The school I go to is mostly home to the rich kids. I mean we are not poor or anything but these kids are RICH. A small amount of students at my school are well not rich. Meaning living in the ghetto or living in Developmental sections. We live in a section called New Riverside which is a Housing Development with different sections of living. Well I have a Nirvana jacket and I normally wear a band t-shirt and these morons think I am depressed because I like Nirvana or that I am Emo because I like Nirvana. They have no clue what emo is. I wore a Black Sabbath t-shirt yesterday and this moron said: Are they emo? How dumb are these people. I mean just because I listen to Metal and don't talk much to people other than my friends does not make me Emo, Goth or Depressed. In the end of my rant the Rich suck.

I wouldnt say dumb, just ignorant I suppose. Not everyone knows really what emo means or what music is what, but I guess they are dumb for not knowing to just keep their mouth shut when they know that they are ignorant on the subject at hand.

In most cases, it's the rich who are Emos, because they are so happy all the time they need something depressing to even themselves out. But yeah, bastards with little to no musical taste say those things. Emo isn't even to do with the bands half the time. They use MCR as an alibi but their fashion consists of those horrible stripy shirts and converses, so if you don't dress exactly like that, you have no reason to feel sodomised. |

Same Scenerio with me except replace rich with middle class, and Nirvana with Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath with Nirvana. |

Funny you say that, I took a trip to Austin, TX last summer because I've heard their punk scene is so awesome. I went a Wednesday Night Heroes/A Global Threat show, and let me tell you, the street punk scene up there is BULLSHIT. They're all University of Texas, rich kid/trust fund having bungholes. Absolutely the SNOTTIEST people I've ever met. To keep this on topic though, I know what Kevin means, and how annoying it can be for people to, not really be ignorant, but to just have no clue what you're into. I'm in a small town, there is only about six punks here, and I get confused for being 'gothic' ALL the time. |
