I've had sleep trouble the past 1-2 years. It got better around September with school starting, i tried extra hard to get a good pattern going. Then around Christmas break (19th-now) it's an awful pattern again. Monday i went to bed at 12, woke up at 5 and had school at 1. So i couldnt get back to sleep, so i had to stay up for 7 or 8 hours before school than i didn't sleep that night (Wednesday night) and last night i fell asleep at 5pm and woke up at 3am. I woke up sick & without energy, having to stay home from school. It's an awful way to sleep & i am not gonna spend a pile of money on drinks or pills or whatever. After a while it gets better, usually when i stay up all night one night, than keep myself awake til around 10-11pm the next night, waking up normally, and hopefully continuing that way. If that doesn't work i take a gravol around 11pm.

Jerk off before you get up... Wakes you up Lets try "How to get me to sleep" first them how to wake up..... works both ways. But seriously, I've been having the same problem( falling asleep, not waking up) the past month or so. I've always been somewhat of a negative person, but I'm having mild anxiety lately before I go to sleep. Like really negative thoughts that just prevent me from even wanting to go to bed. What I suggest is to stay up all night, and then go to sleep the following night..aka miss one night of sleep. That way you'll be completely wasted that you'll have to go sleep, and it might help you get on a good schedule. Worked for me.
