But Jesus fed the 5000 with fish and loaves. Right, but it was after the flood was over that God deemed it okay. Though, I don't practice religion as often as other people, I do feel as though my spirituality, like my conscience for not killing animals, Puts me a little closer to God, they are - his creations, no? I get that the bible says it's okay to eat meat, I just have a hard time finding comfort in the thought that it was written to mean, "yes, eat meat that is polluted and eat the meat of those animals who are raised for slaughter, treated like nothing, and pumped full of chemicals, hormones, and steroids. If you find that that was God's will and credo, more power to you. Me, I'll stay on my side of the fence and treat every animal as I do my pets, as equal creatures that mean no less on this planet than any other. Isaiah 11:6-9.
"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, and their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."

And that's totally your choice, and I respect that. I'm the only vegetarian in my family, so I have no real qualm with anyone around me eating meat. So to you, and a few other people, I do apologize on my behalf if I seemed at all, well... full of myself over any other members. I just hope everyone respects my views, I just kinda dislike a few people here treating this so damn sarcastically. The world will never be a vegetarian one, and I'm fine with that - I just don't like the idea of people using very poorly thought out crap as an argument in an effort to look cute, and then showing me a hamburger.

Holy shit... Something me and Adam don't see eye-to-eye on. I'm a fan of burgers, steak, and all that good stuff. For some reason, going out and getting a burger, or making homemade tacos and such can really help me feel healthier. Sometimes, it can even stop me from being sick. So in some cases, it's like my vitamin C. But I do get grossed out by hot dogs, and such. Steak with hunks of fat in it? KFC? Cambells soup? Forget about it. I hate that shit. For me, anything with real meat in it has to be made just right for me to want to eat it. If it's got scraps in it of any sort, it'll just make me sick. On the other hand, I have tried Boca, Morninstar, etc., and they're all quite healthy and tasty. If real meat was doing something to my system, I could easily switch to veggie burgers and such. Only one pet peeve I have about vegetarians; The ones I've met. The girls, in particular. Out of all the girls I've dated, two were vegetarian. And they were the bitchiest, most self-absorbed people I've ever met. But, I mean, you can't say that all vegetarians are like that. That's just my bad experience with bad women, I guess. Haha! So, I might as well be neutral on this whole thing. Adam, you've got a great point, but I do believe that these animals were put here to provide. But, see, then again, WE are animals, too. So...I'm staying neutral, 'cause I don't know. , nobody truly knows until they take a dirt nap.

When I first stopped eating meat, I had researched it for a year so I could do it safely, but I still, being so young, didn't know what I was doing. After about the first six months, I got everything straight, and was doing fine since. Never took any supplements, or vitamins at all, until my four year old niece started pre-k. I swear man, I can go out ANYWHERE with the sickest bastards I know, and not get sick... but when I get around her and she's sick, holy crap I'm in bed for days. Boca basically sucks, MorningStar is the **** if you want meatless 'meat' - the hot dogs, burgers, italian sausage, hell - everything is amazing. ESPECIALLY the steak strips! Holy god I can make some badass fajitas with those. In fact, they're best on the grill! ...I know all about vegetarians being stuck up, which is why I apologized if anyone got that impression. If you ever get a around a crust punk scene, with plenty of vegans, you might wanna turn and run. Damn self-righteous hippies.

The two I was with...One's not even worth my time. The other is engaged now, and I still have feelings for. Though I don't know why, because she, as stated before, was a raging bitch.
But, yeah, I feel as though a boca burger drizzled in ketchup is just as good as the real thing. However, if it's a Boca, I need two or three for it to be filling.
I should try more morningstar stuff. I've been meaning to eat healthy lately. When my dad yells out "Want anything from the grocery store while I'm there?", I should take that opportunity, instead of just replying "Naw", or "7-up and m&ms, I'll give you the money"...Haha!

My philosophy is it's ok to eat meat if you can stomach killing the animal you're eating, if you can't then you don't deserve meat. I don't eat meat because I was never raised on it so I find it disgusting but I have no problem killing an animal and cooking it. I've seen how animals are slaughtered and prepared and I don't find it a generally good way of killing the animal but it's fast and efficient if people don't like it then they shouldn't eat meat. In the times of Jesus most people fished or hunted for themselves which is fine but nowadays people don't hunt the food themselves so it's not ok unless you know the slaughtering process and aren't squeamish about it.

I'm sorry if I sound heartless but I've seen all of those pro veg. videos and they don't detour me from eating meat. Steak is good. Polish Sausage is good. Ribs are good. You get the idea.

I totally respect your views. It would be nice to be a vegetarian, but I'm too lazy, and stuck in my ways to even try. I feel sadness for eating animals at times, but me not eating it doesn't stop the animals from being killed and used as food. So the way I look at it is, I might as well enjoy it.

So what if it gets Slaughtered, Animals hunt for meat and the hunted mostly die a slow and painful death, Unlike Slaughtering which is basically Instant. You can't compare the two, one is nature and instinct, and the other is a race of people that is greatly obese (yay America) driving to the nearest megamart, and they let their fat little fingers do the shopping, not the killing. Slaughter isn't instant. We kill animals then we eat them it's called nature. Just like a lion or a tiger we have brains to figure out how to kill the animals and they have claws to rip them to shreds it is the way it is. I hate animals anyway so the video does not bother me at all. No, some guy at a slaughter house kills the animal, and you buy it to eat it, that's called a business. It doesn't take much of a brain to hang an animal upside down and slice it's throat open. Each person contributes to society, everyone basically works for everyone, one makes clothes for people, or one helps builds houses and so on, We have the people to do the food for us, but we contribute back, you know what I mean?

At least not any evidence that doesn't come from nutjobs like PETA. PETA doesn't speak for all vegetarians. Just the pretentious ones who wear it on their sleeves to say they're so much better than everyone that they advertise it with Pam Anderson . . . who eats fish. I remember working as a camp counselor a couple of years ago. For July 4th, there was a pig roast. The kitchen staff actually put the head of the pig in the serving line, and it grossed out kid and counselor alike. But that's what they were eating. There's such a dissociation with what people eat, that's what bothers me. I don't eat meat. If you want to and you know what's going in your body, fine with me. Let's agree to disagree. I'm not being a dick about what you eat, don't be a dick about what I don't.

Since your not a self-righteous d*ckwad like 90% of the vegetarians or vegans or whatever level of hippiedom, I apologize for being such an ass. At least you take into account the proteins and vitamins you lose and you make up for it I assume through taking a vitamin supplement or protein shakes or something. Most people don't realize that meats do contain good things and they usually wind up really sick and unhealthy.

You weren't the only one being an ass, I feel like I was too, I wish most arguments, if you want to call it that, on this forum could be solved so easily. Soy has a TON of protein in it, but I can't eat it 100% of the time, so I do make up for it with vitamins everyday, and I really do try to care of myself. Meats have good iron and protein, and essential vitamins, but I can get them all elsewhere... the only thing I miss, and have never seen for sale around here in vegetarian form is shrimp. But meh, that's what the internet is for.
