I actually watched a program on TV about 3 cases of this (brother and sister marrying/dating each other before finding out they were related) a few months back. One of the couples had a kid, and it had loads of disabilities, one couple were in their 60's/70's, and decided they didn't care and continued as they were, and the other couple were in their 20's and engaged, and they were trying to decided whether to stay together or not.
Aparently, you find people more attractive if they have similar features (physically) to yourself. So when a brother and sister see each other, but don't know they are brother and sister, they should both be attracted to each other, because they'll have similar looks; same nose, same eyes, etc.
The reason 99% of people don't get that effect if you grow up with each other, is exactly because that. You grew up with each other, knowing that you're brother and sister, and that it would be wrong to have any sexual feelings toward them, so you just instinctivly don't have those urges.
It was actually a really interesting show.

thats awful.....imagine finding somebody, falling in love, getting married....and then finding out its really your sister/brother. wow.....that is really awful and i feel bad for both of them. Oh man do I ever agree. It would suck. I mean yes it was gross but they couple didn't know it. Man, I'd be depressed as hell finding that info out. |

Imagine the emberassment. This happens more than it should. A person deserves to no who there parents are no matter what there parents want or don't want. I feel so sorry for them. It had to be heart renching. The shame it would bring them. Wouldn't surprise me if one if not both commit suicide. Sorta like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air Will and Lisa are engaged but break up at the alter and then there parents marry eachother however it is way worse.
