Congratulations on the adoption. My ferret Calliope changed my life. I loved her very much. Be aware that pet stores often lie about their lifespan. Calliope passed away at 6 1/2 years old from pancreatitis. The vet said that was very common and that 6 to 8 is considered a very old ferret. If you will be allowing Mischief to have run of the house be prepared to have you socks stolen and used for nesting. Also hope you have laminate or linoleum floors, because although you can teach them to use a litter box since they will back up to their favorite corner it does not always prevent them from using every other corner in your house for occasional relief.
