 Sorry had to be done. Seriously though if talking to her doesn't work your just going to have to put up with it until you move out. If she's too stubborn to look at it from another perspective there isn't a whole lot you can do. |

The music that me, you & "unyunmasta" listen to may well be classed as Devil music.
The fact is though, it's not that bad.
Hip-hop encourages people to go out and shoot/stab people.
So just say to her "Atleast i'm not listening to Hip Hop"
(I'm not trying to start the "Rap Vs. Rock" argument, i'm just trying to make a point)

My mother was the same exact way. One of those Nazi-Christians. Just be a man, stand up to her. She'll back off. It's alot more helpful if you know the bible, I've learned, so you can throw scripture at her  Just tell her something along the lines of God loves everyone, and then go off about how ridiculous the idea of a man caring so much about us that he thougt dying for us would save us for eternity. He got 12 men drunk and told them the most ridiculous story ever told. Word spread quickly. People believed him. He blasphemed about blasphemy. |

shoving Christianity down my throat. She never stops trying to prove to me that every band I listen to worships Satan. Nirvana, Nine inch Nails, Marilyn Manson (No **** right?), Killswitch Engage, Korn, Disturbed, etc. Her proof? She shows me the John Lee Clary bull ****. *This is the same guy who claims Chris Benoit and his family WAS KILLED BY A SATANIC CULT* I do believe in God, but I refuse to be "Christian", because it seems to be less about love and more about proving everyone out to be evil. Any way anyone can help? RKO her (Ok now we got that out of way) My Mom gets that way too. But I tell her it's my life and I'll pay for it when I die. |

Well your mom obviously doesn't respect good music. (No offense) Seriously though, i'm a goth, so i've had alot of the same thing. Thats all my nan talks about. This was my replie "Nan, just because those bands worship satan, doesn't mean i do. I just like the music." Yeah... but none of those bands worship Satan. Marilyn Manson is actually a deeply religious man. I don't remember what his religion is -- I think Baptist but again, I'm not sure -- but I know for a fact that he practices his religion regularly. You see, all these bands are, get this, putting on a show. They're more or less playing characters. People need to learn to not take everything so damn seriously. |

Some of my family members said that crapand I just ignore them because they are soo goddamn narror minded. Dude don't pay attention to your mom seriously, parents can be such bungholes my parents on the other hand don't give a crapwhat I listen to. Speaking of christians I personally can stand them, my cousin is one and she just bugs me and saying Jesus this Jesus that, shut the  up and stick a cross up your ass. I am not religious at all I was until I realize that all religion is a bunch of shit |

I wouldn't give up on the concept of Christianity just because of your mother. It sounds like you still believe what it teaches, but it's just being washed out by your mother. My reccommendation would be to pump out some of the Christian metal, and when she argues with that, show her the lyrics. You could also do the same with some of the other bands you mentioned. I don't think Killswitch has anything that bad in the lyrics, so if you show her it isn't any worse than any other rock music, she might not be so hard on you

My grandma's husband, who is not y real grandpa gave me shit, about the music I listened to, and I finally told him to shut the hell up, and I did not give a damn about what he thought. Well my mom is a bit of a control person, she acts wired when I buy some CD's or try to, she took my HIM Dark Light album back to the store. But I was able to buy a Mayhem album??? Oh well introduce her to christan metal, as there are some bands, Demon hunter is one I really like, but they scream a lot, so yeah....
