When I first read the topic I thought you were gonna ask which out of Wrestling and Anime has the dorkier fanbase. Haha, it's a close call, but I think Anime wins in the dweeb department.

It's not even a close call in the dweeb section Walter. That kid that dresses up as Kane here isn't as sad as these people: . I mean, I've hung out with people who dress up like that. Not the fat dikes, but just people who think it's a good idea to squeeze into a crappy costume. They aren't interesting.

Haven't you dressed up as Naruto? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Reminds of this guy at all of the wrestling conventions (I am sorry if you happen to be on this forum somewhere) but this guy is fat and has scraggly red hair and a long beard and is always carrying around a WHC replica belt rambling on about Bruno Sammartino or some sh-t. I have dubbed him the "champ." I'll have to get his autograph sometime.

I've been to conventions. It's full of them. It's terrifying You learn a lot about yourself in those situations.

Why do I get the inkling that a good 90% of you only know of stereotypical aspects of anime and anime fans/otaku? Really, you guys bitch when the media pokes fun at wrestling for being a bunch of big dumb sweaty guys grabbing each other, go on big rants about how they're ignorant because they don't watch it, and now you're acting as if the thought that someone might prefer anime to wrestling is just laughably absurd? Seems kind of uncultured to me...
And I don't even watch anime, so my vote goes to wrestling.

Both are extremely dorky, except one doesn't have guys ing school girls, constant sex noises for every emotion, and everyone on the block owning a sword. (including the guy who works at the pizza hut.) Inuyasha completely turned me off to anything I may have liked about anime. So did furries and hentai and all that garbage. It's just pure ****. I would've maybe given Inuyasha a chance, had they not screamed eachother's obscenely long names every three ing seconds. That's like, if I said "HELLO JOHN H. SMITH! HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY? OH??? ARE YOU GOING TO BUY SOMETHING FOR MARY M. MARTIN?" *- - CRASH!! - -* "WATCH OUT, JOHN H. SMITH!!!" *guy from pizza hut comes flying in through the ceiling with a ing naginata* Ugh... ing shoot me.

I have met a few Anime fans and for the most part they are dorky, uber nerds. I am very much admitting most wrestling fans are uber nerds as well, but just not quite as blatant and glaringly dorktastic as Anime. I mean, we all have a dorky side to us to love this stuff, but i have met a lot of "normal" wrestling fans while most anime fans I have met are quite far from normal.

There's a world of difference between an Otaku and someone like myself. An otaku immerses themselves in the world. Every realm has two extremes and middle ground. It's mostly the crap that floods Cartoon Network and Fox Kids that gives it a bad name. Everything they air, and the "Anime Inspired" shows that the US makes are just nothing but cliches of the industry. It's like wrestling. You can see the mass market stuff on TV but once start looking, you'll realize the stuff that doesn't get TV time here in the states is leaps and bounds ahead of stuff you've been force fed.

No what's sad is that you don't know it's Final Fantasy X-2 They were also in Final Fantasy X. Way to (seriously) nerd it up, though. And damnit, if Paine wasn't a digital image... I'd tear that crapup. Be like, "those two can handle it on their own. Let's get busy." Later that night... "Ceiling moogle is watching you sex."

I wouldnt consider wrestling "dorky", I mean most anime fans at my school all have no life and are afraid to talk to girls (LOL). Wrestling fans are just anyone. My whole family likes wwe. My old GF used to like WWE. Even the so called "bullies" of the school are wrestling fans.
I voted Wrestling btw.

Im fine with people who watch and Enjoy Anime, but I don't like the People who rabble on about that Anime is the best f*cking thing known to man and just chuck random crap at me " OMG OMG THIS WEEKS NARUTO EPISODE WAS AWESOME DID YOU SEE SASUKE? OMG ^_____^ ", but what really gets to me is the People who really really get into Anime and then catch on to Other Japanese stuff and Start to like everything Japanese while Im fine with people liking Japanese stuff I don't like people who TRY to be Japanese, mixing in English with Japanese, dressing like Japanese people and Hating on their OWN Culture " Omfg, Japan is so Superior than my Home country, I wished that I lived in Japan, those Japanese are so Lucky!!! ".

As a fellow Otaku, I actually have to go with anime on this one right now.
I know, I know: If I prefer it, then what am I doing on a wrestling forum right? Rather simple, just because I prefer it doesn't mean that I hate wrestling. I feel that the two of them can actually be integrated fairly well. A lot of cool storyline parallels can be seen between the two if you look at it just the right way.
Exhibit A: Shows: Trigun & WWE Raw is War Character comparisons: Vash/Undertaker & Knives/Kane Synopsis: In each is a brother that wishes for nothing more than to end the life of his own brother. However, the good brother doesn't want to inflict harm, knowing that it's his own kin. In the end, a climatic battle ensues between the two, with the good brother realizing that the terror ensuing by his evil brother will only be stopped by them. (Anyone else get confused by that?)
Exhibit B: Shows: Full Metal Panic & WWF Characters: Sousuke Sagara/Macho Man Randy Savage & Koname Chidori/Miss Elizabeth Synopsis: Too amusing to explain at this point. Long story short: highly over protective and relatively oblivious to the way society is supposed to work.
At least an anime keeps it's storylines going for more than a week or two.
