Must be nice to have money to afford HD and Blu ray. God i hate rich people, i bust my ass everyday at a job that i love to do and yet some people just go and ask the parents and BAM mommy and daddy give in. i hate that *IF you worked hard to get where your at then this isnt towards you.* i work for my **** too, maybe you just need to budget your money better. i hope HD-DVD prevails in the end, i just bought like 7 of them off ebay in the past week. the quality is just amazing. if HD dvd was to lose though atleast i could score mad flicks for cheap. Its hard to budget money when you have bills and a family. I never was able to just go to my parents and get what i want, My father is still a hard working man also.

I just don't feel like having 2 seperate formats. Seeing as some movies are only HD or Blu Ray. Just end the hate end the war! The majority of movies are either on Blu-Ray only as of now or they will be in a couple months. The only company still making only HD-DVD's is Universal, and god only knows how much longer they will remain on the HD side of this war. The war is over, Blu-Ray has won, but for those of use that want a high quality DVD we can pick up some HD-DVD's. As it has been said on page 1, 1080 is 1080 no matter what kind of disc it is on.

I am gonna have both by the end of the month, so I don't care which wins. Blu Ray is far better though, in my opinion.

To be honest, I'm in no hurry to get either. I don't have an HDTV yet, I'll be getting one when I go to college, along with an HD laptop.
My laptop comes stocked with a Blu-Ray player, but otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one.

Either way I don't feel like paying $30 for a movie. Same here. I have a PS3 but do not want to pay close to $40 for some DVDs (after taxes). Make them cheaper and I'll support Blu-Ray all the way.

Currently I have HD-DVD and I love it. I was so pissed when Warner Bros. decided to back Blu-Ray exclusively. Now I have to get a Blu-Ray player just get "The Dark Knight" when it's released on a HD disk format.

I love how people think this format war is almost over. HD has been a failure from the beginning. HDTV's have been around for roughly 10 years, and still less than 50% of American's have them. I don't understand why companies are pushing this so hard. However, if we must choose one HD format, I'm going to hold out hope for HD VMD. You can't beat 1080p movies that retail for $17.49. VMD sucks. 5 GB disc? Lmfao.

Just let HD-DVD die so we can have a clear winner. This stupid format war has gone on long enough. People have chosen Blu-ray, lets deal with it and move on.

And to all the people who think that Blu-Ray is better than HD-DVD, you have no idea what you are talking about. 1080p is 1080p. They're virtually the same thing. The only differences are the colors of the cases and the fact that Blu is insanely overpriced. Well, that and the fact that it (Blu) is not finished. It's not a finalized technology, whereas HD-DVD is.

Blu-Ray in 2 years since it isnt a finished tech yet; you blu fans will have to buy all new machines, because the one you have now will be old tech and wont be able to read the new discs they'll have. Their tech will change every two years because they know now that theres fools out there that will pay $400 every two years to upgrade their players and whatever it costs for the discs. I mean look at the fools now that will pay that kind of money now; when HD players are only $150 and the discs are only $20.

I guess the reason I say Blu Ray is better is because there are a lot more movie companies on Blu Ray and that Blu Ray (supposedly) has the possibility of a 50GB double-layer disc, which would (obviously) be able to store more than the 30GB HD-DVD double-layer.

well I have a ps3 so I'm kinda going with blu-ray. not worried about prices for now. I rarely buy a new movie and in about a year they will be down to a reasonable price. DVD's were extremely expensive when they came out just like all new things.
