Uhhh.....that's a pretty big thing going for it. That and the scratch free coating.
That's so damn lame. Hell, Blu-Ray is web enabled and has in movie menus as well. But no picture in picture. This guy is right. HD is the far superior format.
I could give two shits, I have both.

I rather see the format war end sooner then later. The sooner it ends, the more money I'll save. So far Blue-Ray is winning, thus I want Blue-Ray to win.

And once HD fails, I'll be saving hundreds of dollars by stocking up on discontinued bargain bin HD movies. 1080p is 1080p regardless of what disc they put it on.

I have HD DVD and Blu Ray and Blu is just superior.
Let HD DVD die so the consumers can focus on one product.

Must be nice to have money to afford HD and Blu ray. God i hate rich people, i bust my ass everyday at a job that i love to do and yet some people just go and ask the parents and BAM mommy and daddy give in. i hate that *IF you worked hard to get where your at then this isnt towards you.*

I'm enjoying the decline of HD DVD at the moment because I have it. Amazon just put 500 HD titles up for $14.99 today! It's the best! Plus I still didn't send for my 5 free ones. I'm enjoying this 'war' so far. I plan on getting a Blu-Ray player too, and like Drew said, I'll still buy bargain bin HD DVDs.
I have about 600 normal dvds and have no interest in upgrading or replacing any of them. I only buy HDs for anything with a lot of CGI, big action scenes, etc., etc. Now's too shakey of a time to invest in one next gen format.

Im up there with sharkboy. i dont have the money for a HD DVD player or a HD TV or a Blu Ray DVD player. Nothing wrong with normal DVD's, Hell id still use VCR's if the sound quality didnt decline each time you played it.

I love how people think this format war is almost over. HD has been a failure from the beginning. HDTV's have been around for roughly 10 years, and still less than 50% of American's have them. I don't understand why companies are pushing this so hard. However, if we must choose one HD format, I'm going to hold out hope for HD VMD. You can't beat 1080p movies that retail for $17.49.

I recently bought an HD DVD player. I guess I can say I've been "Beta'd". But I didn't buy a ton of movies for it. I'm ok with having bought the player since it does play standard DVD's a lot better than any regular DVD player that I've ever owned. But until it's 100 % clear which format is going to win...I'll just stick with standard DVD's

Either way I don't feel like paying $30 for a movie.
