We have seen pictures of Curry Man MOTION CAPTURING his entrance, and Petey confirmed it himself. I can't remember when Kaz was confirmed tho. IGN Q&A. He's probally just ticked off they didnt' want to waste time on someone only 4 people would play (Devine) you wouldn't be able to unlock him though

I'm just not going to believe it until it's announced seeing as the game in general is an abysmal dissappointment. I wouldn't want to get my hopes up just for them to be dashed by TNA and Midway...

It was a joke.. just go trade in your game already if it's such a disappointment. I find it funny how people are like "THis game sucks", "It's a disappointment", "It won't last but a few days" when I've been playing it for a week much like alot of other people.

Actually, I got over it after about two or three days. Breezing through story mode didn't help the replay value at all. However, I still pop in the game every now and then to have a match. The only incentive that I have at the moment is the fact that I still haven't unlocked all the other characters, I stopped playing at Senshi.

Any advice on beating Angle other than the chairs? I even hit the "8 Second Ride" on the floor then took him into the ring and hit 3 chokeslams and nothing. Make him tap. That's how I ended up beating Jarrett. Just be ready to reverse the DVD a lot of the times, if you go for the standing Sleeper, since they tend to reverse it a lot.

Maybe I would still be playing it if 2 better games didn't come out like less then a week after it... That's the thing though, I STILL play SVR 08 because it had replay value, it had a roster that MADE SENSE. You know, they didn't include jobbers that are just carbon copies of your created guy... maybe instead of doing that and structuring the story like they did, they could have included people like Curry Man, Kaz, Johnny Devine, Petey Williams ON DISC... you know, quite a novel idea it is to include people on your roster on your game... what a strange, foreign idea...

I don't care if they're not on the disk since we're getting them through DLC. Why put guys on a disk when you can put them as DLC and get more $$? I like the idea of the clowns being on the roster as it's something that hasn't been done. It gives you another option of matches instead of just playing as regualar wrestlers you can play with the jobbers. Don West is cool to have because it's notevery day you can play as a non-wrestler in a video game as far as unlocking goes. Also, the clowns are no where near a carbon copy of your CAW?

After reading bout how much people were having trouble with Aj & Tomko. I was already preparing to get pretty pissed off at the match. But, somehow. After 3-4 chairshots and one sleeper hold Tomko tapped asap. Only took me 1 match.
The guys who gave me the most trouble in story mode. The Red Devil Jobber Guy, Nash & Jarret. Everyone else I just destroyed.

Because if they are going to be so damn money grubbing I'm going to get fed up and not give you any more money? I can't believe how many people on this forum don't understand the most basic concepts of Marketing! It's one thing for a game like Rock Band to do DLC for songs each and every week because there is no feasible way they can get all that music on one disc... however there is ACTUALLY no excuse to not have members of the roster on the game. There is a reason not every day you can play as a non-wrestler in a video game... BECAUSE HE'S A ING NON-WRESTLER! If I wanted some douchey jobber to beat up with my main roster guys I would just create some jobbery looking dirt bag... oh but wait, there's only 5 CAW slots to begin with! Seriously, the fact that they cut Petey and Kaz from the game in favor of some ing clowns from the story mode is a damn joke.

I haven't played this game in about 5-6 days after beating story mode.
The repetitive moves made the overall experience boring. They really should've added more instead of scamming us.

I didn't even finish story and I started getting bored. The lack of moves, the overall crumminess of the story and the EXTREMELY shitty kickout system just turned me off the game completely...

Well, I think it's a pretty sweet game. It's something completely different. I dunno what else to say. I'm having a blast with it.

Sacmming you? You knew what was in the game and what wasn't in the game yet YOU still bought it. Noone at midway held at gun to your head and said "BUY THE GAME". You knew all the facts about the roster, the match types, everything yet you still bought it. They didn't scam you at all.

The thing is - you don't have to like the game and no one's forceing you to. If you don't like it just go to gamestop and trade it in or something. There's no reason to constaly bash a game yet you don't take it back. My mistake.

I find it funny how people are like "THis game sucks", "It's a disappointment", "It won't last but a few days" when I've been playing it for a week much like alot of other people. I find it funny that you find it funny that not everyone feels this game has the same longevity as you feel it has. Let's be real, in the grand scheme of things, all this game is was a glorified demo for the price of a full game. Let me elaborate.. - Limited Roster (Was to be expected, but still) - Relatively no character variety. Everyone feels the same. Nobody can deny this, or defend it. This is 2008, there's no excuse for this. - They motion captured 2,000 PLUS MOVES, and only about 60, if that, made it in. And they blame time constraints? No, I blame Midway for being Midway and not giving a about what the fans/consumers wanted. - The AI in the game, for the most part, is garbage. People bash the SVR games tag AI? I've never seen tag partner AI worse than in iMPACT. Even Nitro had better tag partner AI. Now for my opinion on iMPACT, a mini-review if you will. Even for a first try, this game is legitimately pathetic. The controls are way more complicated than they need to be, the AI is horrid, the graphics and animation are very, very nice, however. But that doesn't save this game from it's major (and I mean MAJOR) shortcomings. I'd recommend this for a rent. Do not buy it. It's not a 'good start', it's not 'better than SmackDown' (nor will it ever be), and it sure as hell shouldn't be able to be called a wrestling game. If you're looking for an SVR killer, look farther. This isn't it. The game doesn't have a life span past four or five days. Now, for a rant. They promised us 'the most complete wrestling game ever', as well as a ton of **** they knew they couldn't deliver. Midway needs to learn that when you tell wrestling game fans a feature is in, we expect to see that feature in the game and not be given excuses as to why it's not after we've been promised that it would be. We're not the Mortal Kombat audience, if you tell us something's in, it better be in. But then again, Midway has no clue about the wrestling fans, they've never dealt with this audience before. They assume we're the same kind of people who will pick up Mortal Kombat, and not care how gimped a game is, and they're dead wrong. Does this rant have a point? Yeah, I got this game damn near for free from a friend, and I still feel cheated. I feel bad for the people who actually bought it. I hope that when (if) the DLC ever comes out, that **** is free, because it's a damn shame this game, after two years of development time, turned out like it did. Not trying to start a fight or anything, just my two cents. Well, I think it's a pretty sweet game. It's something completely different. I dunno what else to say. I'm having a blast with it. Agreed. The thing is - you don't have to like the game and no one's forceing you to. If you don't like it just go to gamestop and trade it in or something. There's no reason to constaly bash a game yet you don't take it back. But Matt, the point is that if you trade it in, you're not getting full price for it. You basically, in that case, paid $60 to get $25. And that's just horrible logic, bro.

I'm not about to get this thread locked again because people want to jump on me about how they think the game sucks. You think the game sucks - fine I get that but give me a break. I don't have to hear the same crap every single day. I like the game, you don't = MOVE ON.

I do somewhat agree on most things but I don't agree on limited Roster. I mean sure the knockouts were not in the game but I'm sure alot of people didn't want them in the game. The only big names that could have been in the game off the top of my head are Curry Man (DLC), Petey (DLC), Kaz (DLC), Morgan, Lance Rock, Jimmy Rave, Johnny Devine, Kip and BG James so the rosters isn't that bad, to me anyway

It gives you another option of matches instead of just playing as regualar wrestlers you can play with the jobbers. WrestleMania XIX did it. So did the AKI WCW games. So did Attitude, the ECW games, I think War Zone as well.

If you don't count the Knockouts (and even if you do), TNA has a hella small roster. But having the 25-30 they have, but most of them sharing the same play type limits the roster severely, if that makes sense, and further decreases the life span of the game in my opinion.
