I was just curious. I have N64 here @ college and never had this game. I know it used the same engine as No Mercy so I'm sure the gameplay was good. What was the season mode like? Was it storylines with text like No Mercy? Or was it one of those things where you just win matches to get to the world title?

It was just matches, with some "cutscenes" of wrestlers in the ring talking on the Mic.

So if I haven't picked up No Mercy in a few years, I'd be better playing that if bored than getting Wrestlemania 2000 if I've never owned it before?

WM 2000 wasn't as complicated as No Mercy. All you have to do is win matches to progress in Season Mode. My suggestion is to use Stone Cold, so you can unlock his Smoking Skull belt in the end.
