HBKJASON's Guide to Wii Main Event Mode

Ok I have yet to read one decent review of the Wii version where they explain what the deal with main event mode is so I though i would give it a try. Please not the focus of this is the main event mode not the gameplay mechanics if you have any question's about anything to do with it just ask.

First of all every superstar is selectable for main event mode (even legends once you unlock them). Once you pick your guy you then pick a show. I am not sure exactly what the point in this is as you can wrestle on all 3 shows if you like. However if you picked SD for example Teddy Long would email you not the coach.

The way the game starts is you have what is like a map. In the center of the map is a arena with either RAW SD or ECW on it depending what show is taking place. There is another icon on the left corner this lets you either train or relax. the one on the right however is very important. It takes you to the locker room. Here you can check the power25 save you game and most importantly check your emails. AT the top of the screen is your superstar level your aim is to get to main eventer status. each victory the bar fills.

Email is the main way you control your destiny in ME mode. At first you can only wrestle about 5 different guys when you are a jobber. these are the kind of people you would expect like JTG Shad Snitsky and so on. Once your level increases each time it unlocks a whole batch of new superstars to wrestle. You will get emails from superstars asking you to fight while there is no VO it is all in character. You do not have to except you can decline and issue a challenge to any of the available superstars.

As well as challenges you can ask a superstar to be your ally you need to have a ally as at a point in the game your GM will offer you a chance at the tag titles, which you can not do if you don't have a ally. Also the more you wrestle certain people the higher the chance they become your rival.

After you build a few levels you will notice new PPV arenas on the map. these are not a one match deal and you can say have a week where you wrestle on RAW ECW SD and Summerslam. if you win on the PPV you unlock the arena in exhibition mode.

Once I finished the game it gave me the choice of defending my title or starting from scratch with a new superstar. A interesting note is when I went to pick my new guy Cena(who I completed it with) had a medal next to his name with clear so perhaps you get something for complete it with everyone. Once you unlock legends you can start a main event mode with them which is sweet. I want to add there is no shopzone you unlock everything by playing through ME mode. My first play through I only unlocked. Rock JBL Vince's bald attire (but I have yet to unlock Vince lol) No mercy and Summerslam.

I now this is a long read but I hope it clears up what ME mode is as most reviews have not really done it justice. The most fun I have had in a single player campaign in years.

...Will you ever shut up about alternate attires? We're not going to get them for everyone unless AKI starts developing for THQ again, which I don't see happening....ever.

Because of my lack of interest as of late, I really considered just getting the Wii version to have fun screwing around with, until I saw there were hardly any match types in it.

I'll grab it for the 360 tomorrow, mostly because of the custom soundtracks.

If anyone is really interested in getting the game tonight, it seems like it didn't ship with a very hard street date.

I noticed on Gamestop's site that if I searched my zip code, they said they had 4+ in stock, so I called just to see if maybe they put them out early and sure enough, they said they had them available. I'm not going to bother picking it up tonight, I have to go in town after school tomorrow anyway, I can wait.

I called my gamestop and they said they didnt have it, in fact he said it comes out Wensday.

My gamestop isn't putting them out until tomorrow.
