www.1up.com/do/nespamtory?cId=3164283It's Friday and we're all still reeling from the news that NPD numbers won't be gracing us in the weeks ahead, but as the latest issue of EGM falls into subscriber hands, the Quartermann's able to bring you the latest rumors. And lest we forget, Quartermann was right on the money about Bionic Commando. This month, an old rumor resurfaces in a new form, as BioShock is apparently back on for PlayStation 3. Previously, it'd been speculated that Microsoft tied up 2K Games' aquatic adventure as an exclusive, but there's a change in the tide, as the world rapture may be Cell-enabled in 2008, after all. And while Metal Gear fans are pouting over the most recent Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots delay, Kojima Productions hasn't been snoozing about taking the series in other directions. While everyone else is taking their franchises to Nintendo DS, Metal Gear is sticking to PSP, with a brand-new (that's not a spin-off) game headed to the portable, this time taking Snake back to the early days of his career. We'll leave you with two last tidbits. One, THQ's WWF: No Mercy for the Nintendo 64 is coming back via the WiiWare service with completely updated rosters. Two, the lackluster performance of Sonic the Hedgehog hasn't deterred Sega; they're already hard at work at another "real" Sonic game. 2D, please! See you next month, and make sure to check out the latest issue of EGM's special holiday "Games Overload" issue, landing in the hands of subscribers any day now. ______________________________________________________ I dont know how true this is but 1up seems reliable. Discuss.

Hmm, if this happens I'd **** all over myself. I agree. I dont wanna get man dem hyped up over nothing but since it was 1up where I got it from, I think its reliable. I dont know what to say, once I find out its true, im probably gonna be too happy. We know this wont be a dissapointment because No Mercy is timeless.

I really hope it happens, but I somewhat doubt it. They'd have to remove A LOT of wrestlers, plus the WWF logos and story mode would be messed up. I doubt AKI will edit it.

But u never know this project could have started months ago and now the news just leaked. Its possible without a doubt im just waiting for other sources to confirm this.

I like the idea but I really want it to be the same game with the original roster still in the game. But either way this is great news if it is true

I really hope this is true, but I can't see it. However I know they would have loads of stuff to edit but think about this. remeber how quick they changed the WCW Revenge game to Wrestlemania 2000. It was a mater of just a couple months to knock it out. So while I am very doubtful I hope this is true.
**edit** Just want to ask if any of you guys know how reliable this site is.

Someone at TNMZ said Quartermann has a good track record and is pretty well known in the industry for getting inside info before it's officially announced.

This is actually a very feasible solution. I mean, WiiWare games are going to be original content as it is. With how far ahead technology has advanced, creating a new No Mercy (Higher-res textures, new roster, clear audio) wouldn't be that hard of a job in comparison to modern wrestling games. They'd be getting paid for it and all, it's not like the work would go unsupported. They wouldn't really have to do much for the actual game side of it. Some key new moves would be nice, though.

They did say updated, I wouldn't be surprised if they go through the route of Texture Modding like the Roms. It's not hard to remove the logos and whatnot, you know.

Usually the things Quarterman says have a smattering of truth behind them. But sometimes the final result is different than the rumored statement. Like him stating that Dragon Quest IX being a Wii exclusive. It was later announced to be a Nintendo exclusive. There may be a smattering of truth there, like perhaps someone in the company is working a rom hack as a pet project or something, but nothing has even been cleared for an official project.

If this is true I would buy a Wii just for the game alone.

WHAT ELSE WOULD IT BE ON It was a game made for NINTENDO so it would likely go if put out again on a NINTENDO system. Due to the fact that they own the technology that makes the game run. ROMs don't count, they aren't really legal, but you still have to have an N64 emulator.
