Official Long Island Figure Sightings Thread

I went to go see John Cena at the Sunrise Mall today. Let me just say, it wasnt what I expected. I got lost going there, but ended up finding the way, but I'm mainly talking about the signing itself, It wasnt what I expected it to be. Basically, I waited online for about 3 and a half hours. The signing was scheduled for 2pm, I got there around 11:30. Cena ended up coming early, like maybe around 1:15. So I believe thats when the autographs began. I dont think they waited until 2pm. Anyway, compared to the crowd that was there, I was at a good spot in the line. It took maybe about an hour or so to finally reach him. I had my RA1 Cena figure for him to sign. As I got within a few people towards Cena, they split us up. People that were only getting an autograph (me) went to the left, and people that were getting an auto and picture went to the right. So, as I got up there, one of the people that worked there, took my figure, put it on the table, Cena signed it, and then the guy gave it back to me. I wasnt even able to shake his hand, because he was taking pictures with people, and they wouldnt allow me. I at least wanted to thank him for the autograph. I waitied in line for 3 and a half hours, paid $25, and I wasnt able to shake his hand. I'm gonna email the NYSW a complaint about it, because thats just ridiculous.

Anyway, stopped off at few stores. Here is what they had


Target - Farmingdale, LI - I believe they had 2 CS8 Blassie's, 1 Strongbow and 1 Jerry Lawler. I also saw an ADR14 Booker T/Eddie Guerrero, but I already have it MOC.

WalMart - Sunrise Mall in Massapequa, LI - They had a ADR15 Cena/JBL, that I was tempted to get, as well as 2 ADR15 Rey/Eddie's. I think they also had some CS5 figures. I remember seeing Bundy, Mr. Wonderful, and some other scrub. I checked the Clearance section (which looked like a bomb went off) and I didnt find any CS 3 Packs

KB - Sunrise Mall in Massapequa, LI - The 2 for $10 sale was still on, but they really didnt have good stuff. I saw some Heyman and Bischoff figures from PPV9, as well as a few RA15.5 Bischoff's and Simon Dean's. They also had some of those TTL Backlash figures in the regular section. I remember seeing Hardcore Holly, Spike Dudley, Kurt Angle, Al Snow and possibly someone else, I dont remember. They also had some of those face flipper's things. Not too good of a finding here.

New York Sports Works - Sunrise Mall in Massapequa, LI - They had all of CS9 there! I think they were $20 each with one or two being $25. They also had Batista/JBL from Adrenaline 16, about 4 of them. Why it comes with the WWE Title I have no idea. They had some PPV10 JBL's and OJ's. I also saw a crushed RA15 Coach for about $15. I thought that was a complete rip off, but then again, they sell the figures for a lot more than normal. I saw a Sheik/Volkoff/Bundy 3 Pack for $59.99!!!!! Bundy has no eye brows, Volkoff has a new jacket and Sheik is a repaint with a blue robe, and thats for $59.99? No wonder WalMart had no 3 Packs. They had a nice selection of figures there. Sure, in a few of them, they had the shelf warmers. I did see a RA17.5 Cena, but of course, its too much for me at this time. The RSF Yokozuna's were $40, and I didnt see any Hogan/HBK double packs at all. I guess they sold them all.

Toys R US - Massapequa, LI - They really didnt restock, but they had some RA17. I remember seeing 4 Nunziomania's, 1 Orlando Jordan, 2 Tajiri's, a Stevie Richards and a Paul London (no tassles). Didnt see a Hardcore Holly anywhere. I think they also might have had a ADR14 Hassan/Daivari double pack on the shelf

Toys R Us - Huntington, LI - I actually saw someone I knew there. He said I got fat, which I have, but I'm still like 5 inches taller than him, and I'm like 5'4" or something. Anyway, they also put some RA17 out. They had 1 Nunzio, 2 Stevie Richards, 2 Paul Londons, 1 Tajiri, 1 Hardcore Holly and no Orlando Jordan's. The section still looks like crap. That little figure display they had is still there, except the top is off, making it very easy for someone to steal something, which someone did. They stole a RA7 Kane head. I ended up getting No Way Out 2004 VHS for $2.99. The PPV where Eddie won the title. I was gonna get the Hardcore, but decided not to, then I was gonna get Christobel or Jasper from Family Guy series 3, but they were either $10.99 or $12.99. One said $10.99, yet they rang up for $12.99. I didnt bother with those. I had a Merchandise Card, from returning a few figures, so I just used that to pay for the VHS.

I'm not sure if I want to go to one of these signings again, because it was one of the worst experiences I have probably had. Cena was a nice guy, its just I dont like the way that NYSW conducted this whole autograph signing. It wasn't really Cena's fault. Here are some photos:

I was at the "final turn" of the signing. Cena wasnt too far away from me. The red arrow is where Cena was, and the yellow arrow is where the line began. They basically had the to go thru the entire store to get to him. I would assume that those people got there autographs about a half an hour ago from the time of this posting.



Of course, the signed figure, plus a very nicely made flyer for the next signing which is on the 18th, and Masters and Trish will be there. I would go for Trish:). It looks like someone just wrote this flyer up in 2 seconds and then photocopied it a bunch of times.
