Before the thread gets crammed with "be patient", let me explain my concept.
First off, someone somehow got ahold of an RA28 1 out of 500 Vinny Mac before the protos were released. This probably meant there were RA28 lurking elsewhere.
More recently, CSDA3 have hit stores yet we never got the protos.
In conclusion, I predict someone sometime in late October/early November will spot CS16 in stores. I've already given up on the CS16 protos anyway.

good point. i never took that into consideration. were there ever protos for CSDA figs though?

Well you bring up a good point and there may be some truth behind it but i think CS16 protos were just delayed because of Shane O Mac and now they have moved him.

don't forget the 1/500 RA29 Edge that popped up on eBay a day or two before we saw them MOC [well half of them]

Well this might be it also, I have been talking back and forth with Jeremy about a Classic Superstars signing and have provided him with some great info. In an email he thanked me for the info and also said this "Very difficult time of year for the toy industry.

I think with all the toy recalls the other toy companys have been haveing it has made it a kinda crazy holliday season. Dont get me wrong i want to see CS16 protos as bad as everyone else, im just hopeing good things come to those who wait! I love 80's tag teams and cant wait for the Powers of Pain!!

And notice that the latest "prototypes" for the most recent RA set were just all the exact same protos used for previously released figures. I'm betting those were just used as place-holders, and the final set will feature actual repaints with some new parts, like a normal RA set.
For whatever reason, Jakks seems to have stopped releasing prototype images. I've no idea what the reason and/or benefit for this could be.

Plus, I still think they are planning a "SURPRISE" release in CS16. I maybe wrong about this.
There is no other explanation for moving Shane. Also, they haven't released a series with fewer than 8 figures in the CS line since CS5. (I am not counting the stupid LJN figures) So plan on getting a surprise in 16................I AM!

For CSDA1 we only saw an early mock up of the Hogan with a music themed set of stairs or cart. CSDA2 the only protos we saw were pics from the RF. Jakks never released any other proto's of the CSDA on the internet...And I doubt they ever will with any of the future CSDA figures as it's a TRU exclusive. The only way we'll see them is from media pics taken at trade shows like the NYC Toy Fair or from pics taken at fan events that Jakks attends like Ringside's RF event.

THe only official proto pics I ever remember seeing here was the Hogan Jeremy showed. Everything else was from the Ringfest.

Maybe we haven´t got CS16 protos IN SEPTEMBER because CS16 will be released IN NOVEMBER!? Guys, come on, it can´t be that every day there´s a new thread asking where those stupid protos are...

I've been saying for ages that it would be good for Jakks to not release CS16 protos before they start hitting the shelves, especially considering how long the wait is since CS15. If we'd seen the CS16 protos weeks ago then everyone would be asking for CS17 protos now and the buzz wouldn't be surrounding CS16 when it's released. I also think it could be a possibility that there's an unannounced figure in the lineup, I'm not saying it will be him but I always thought that if Savage got signed it would be best to keep it secret until the figures are on the shelves, that way after word got around everyone would be out looking for the new CS figures and the hype would be greater than for any toy ever before. On the lead up to Christmas it would be an even better idea. As proto pics are photoshopped I don't see why they wouldn't be done by now so I reckon there's more to it.
