On this forum, there have been several threads asking do you play with figures, well this thread is for those that do. I was curious on how realistically/unrealistically you play with figures, like what are somethings that you do that others may not do
when you do play do you mat wrestle a realistic match or are you more likely to do super impossible high bumps and such?
like do you have your figure hit the mat with his boot while punching to have a sound or make sound effects for moves like sweet chin music ?
do you have a ref or do you just count it yourself?
do you have a backstage that they walk through to go to the entrance?
do you play just for fun or do you keep track like your own fed with belts and such?
You can answer these or ask your own, just input something, could be a good discussion

Doing the punches it's easy to make the crashing sound with their boots on RSRs.
I Have a ref. Most people should.

i keep track of my fed, have a couple little notebooks actually, ive had the same fed going for about 4 years...
i have a ref but usually just count with my hand, as i have always done that, since hasrbos.
and i dont have a backstage cuz i dont have room, but i setup up a table and some chairs and make it look like a backstage area to do little backstage segments and stuff.

Not really i have done some pretty nasty bumps on Ecw though.

I normally make sound effects and go 'OMG' when i get carried away.
do you have a ref or do you just count it yourself?
Count it myself as i find it hard to concentrate having a ref aswell
do you have a backstage that they walk through to go to the entrance?
Only for ppv's as i usally play with them in my RSR but on my bed.
do you play just for fun or do you keep track like your own fed with belts and such?
I have Raw, SD, Ecw rosters and have a notepad where i write storylines, matches, who's champion etc.

when you do play do you mat wrestle a realistic match or are you more likely to do super impossible high bumps and such? I sort of change it up depending of who is in the match for instance if it's Flair vs. Malenko it's mat based but if it's Jeff Hardy vs. Rey Mysterio there will be lots of bumps, however I like to mess around with styles for my pic fed
like do you have your figure hit the mat with his boot while punching to have a sound or make sound effects for moves like sweet chin music ? Nah not really cos my ring is made of wood and padded so there wouldnt be a sound anyway
do you have a ref or do you just count it yourself? Ref
do you have a backstage that they walk through to go to the entrance? Yes
do you play just for fun or do you keep track like your own fed with belts and such? Pic Fed + Fun

I do both mat wrestling and insane high spots. I don't do sound effects. I use a ref(I own 8). No I don't have a backstage. I keep track of my fed in notebooks. I have Hardcore Heavyweight Title, Television Title, and Tag Team Titles. I've been doing my fed for about 5 years.

I sow do things realisitclay. Like i stop the mat with the boot for punches. And try to make guys use there hands when hitting a chair and stuff. I tend to have an arean enterance with a ref whoul call hte match, a ring annoucner, time keeper, event era broadcast team, bell ringer, coat cariree (to bring props back stage). etc. I tend to do era specific events. LIke i know no ppv is able to do completly but i try to do it as good as posible iwht era specific substitues fro matches. I also am a classic fan so i like to just do clasic tv like WWF superstars, or Prime time and put toghether etiehr matches that i remmeber or matches that could have happend or made sence with storiy lines of the time.

Yeah, sometimes I do hardcore matches with them and sometimes I try to put on wrestling clinics, I appreciate all different styles of wrestling. I try to make them as realistic as possible but sometimes I'll just screw around and do crazy bumps.

when you do play do you mat wrestle a realistic match or are you more likely to do super impossible high bumps and such?
When I'm bored or "breaking in" a figure, I usually do plenty of highspots and neckbumps. The only time I'm serious is when I use my figures to help plan out matches in my e-fed, since I'm a match writer. When that happens, I usually plan out and play a full match with the figures- restholds, mat wrestling, counters, etc.
like do you have your figure hit the mat with his boot while punching to have a sound or make sound effects for moves like sweet chin music ?
Not really, I usually do all my playing on the wooden desk where most of my day-to-day stuff is located, so I don't bother with sound effects or anything ultra-realistic.
do you have a ref or do you just count it yourself?
Just by myself. When there's a spot in the match that calls for a "ref bump", I usually just use another figure.
do you have a backstage that they walk through to go to the entrance?
Nope. I concentrate on in-ring action only and everything else is usually taken care of beforehand.
do you play just for fun or do you keep track like your own fed with belts and such?
Most of the time I play just for fun, while I'm bored, or just to keep my hands active when I'm doing something stationary like watching TV.

My matches never involve superman bumps. I do big spots here and there, but nothing that would be impossible in real life.
Do you have your figure hit the mat with his boot while punching to have a sound or make sound effects for moves like sweet chin music ?
Sub-conciously, I do sometimes stomp the mat when punching. I'm not consistent at it though. But at the same time, not every wrestler does it anyway. As for Sweet Chins/Big Boots etc. I just let the foot and face plastic connect, and put a bit of impact into it. It makes enough of a thud to be realistic.
Do you have a ref or do you just count it yourself?
There is always a ref standing in the corner on the opposite side of the ring, but i rarely use him unless its a ref-bump or something similar.
Do you have a backstage that they walk through to go to the entrance?
No. I don't have the space for one right now.
Do you play just for fun or do you keep track like your own fed with belts and such?
Well i keep records, but i also have fun. Otherwise i wouldn't bother, of course.
Other notable things I do is have a ring crew around the ring. Usually just generic looking wrestling figures. I don't have a crowd though. I only do RAW, and i have three announce desks at ringside with six announcers.

well, I keep a notebook and the ongoing storylines in my head, not so much playing with them, but occasionally I will break a couple of them and act out the actual match. I never do anything unrealistic as far as something out of the usual repetoire. I do have belts, mostly though, the ones I actually act out matches with are the Japanese figures, certain BCA figures and the Toy Biz WCW figures, for some reason those are the ones I like the best. I love the look of the TNA Toybiz figures, but they don't move worth a crap. I also like the Jakks RA figures, but I dislike the interchangeability of the body parts. I also like the DA figures, but they get that wobble leg thing going on. As far as which I play with the most...probably these five.... Keiji Mutoh, Jushin Liger, Scorpio, Vampiro, & The blue tights Sting from the Evolution of Sting Box set. To answer the other questions.... I have several ref figures, but don't usually use one. I count, but it's in my head. I use a big silver ramp I made (like New Japan) I keep track, but 90% is just purely in my head.
