Hey guys I see Tom Brandy occassionaly and he told me that he signed to have a classic made and he just got a check in the mail from Jakks. He said it would be a Salvatore Sincere figure and would be out in 2008......not the greatest figure news ever but still pretty cool...I'll be picking one up

Yea I asked about the patriot gimmick, because I thought he owned it but he said he was only signed for the Sal gimmick...which sucks because I would love a patriot....maybe they just need to get ahold of Del Wilkes

I was able to communicate with Tom Brandi about two or three weeks ago and he confirmed a Salvatore Sincere figure next year. A Patriot CS is NOT scheduled because Del Wilkes owns it.
Here were Tom's exact words:
I just signed a Jakks deal for the Salvatore Sincere doll for a release in at least a year and a half, they are so backed up. They wouldn't do the Patriot because Del Wilkes was the original as you know.

So, Brandi owns the Patriot rights, yet can't give the okay for a Patriot figure? And Salvador Sincere, easily one of the worst, most unsuccessful, and forgotten gimmicks of all time is being made into a figure? Damn, the CS line is  ed up. |

i'm not bothered about him personally, but I am starting to question Jakks priorities on CS, there was only about 2 people here who asked for Sal on the "who should we sign next" thread... and they'll wonder why he warms shelves...

Ive met tom brandi a few times when he worked indy shows I wrestled on, he is a douchebag, but I will still get his figure. I dont understand why he cant licence out the patriot considering he OWNS the gimmick outright. perhaps he has and just wont mention it |

Brandi may own the Patriot gimmick, meaning he could wrestle as The Patriot if he wanted, but the figure can't be made, as he never actually played the Patriot. The figure would always technically be of Del Wilkes, regardless of the gimmick. Think of the information on the back of the box, like his debut year etc., it would apply to Del Wilkes, and for that they need Wilkes' permission, not Brandi's.
