Over the weekend I was straightening up my collection, and figured I'd post a pic of the 2 Thunderlips figures. Amazing what 20 years of technology can make. To see more of my collection, check my myspace listed below.

wow, yeah there have been some MAJOR improvements over the last decade or so... (but we still compain!) Anyways, that would make a good little set to sell if you were to sell it on eBay or something, like a "Now and Later" type set. Nice figures, too

i personally think the older one looks better for Hogan, it looks almost like a real scan body.

Wow. Now Thunderlips looks more "Thunderlips-e"lol. At least Jakks added the hat and jacket. Accessories make the man right?
I am one for the original stuff tho. I never did like the new MOTU line. Forget the new crap, I like old. Old can be kick ass too!

Just to add something here, those figs are almost 25 years apart. So it's not just a few years.

it was just a figure of speech. To some people 25 years isn't very long either. Now, if I had said a couple of years, then that I could see the point of your statement. Just to add something here, those figs are almost 25 years apart. So it's not just a few years.

A few years is generally 3-4 years. More like a couple decades. For the time that older Hogan was not bad.

I can't imagine how our present-day figs will look 10 years from now.

I remember those Rocky figures came out awhile before the AWA figures. Once the AWA's came out I remembered there was a Hogan in the Rocky line about the same size as the AWA's. My dad drove me everywhere trying to see if stores still had it. Finally I found one at a KB's. The figure was only a tad taller than the AWA's. I can't tell you how many Flair vs. Hogan hour long matches I had.

There I fixed the title. Hope everyone is happy now.
Yes it was a very good figure for it's time.

No problem. I wonder if kids back then complained if figures had the wrong kickpads, or didn't wear elbow pads, or griped about the height differences. I didn't... there used to be a thing called imagination. ;D hahaha yet all the little kiddies on this board bitch about what crappy figs we get today, u shoulda been a kid back then, now that was hardcore, u kids got it good today! hahaha thanks for the comparisons

Yeah, I've got both of those in my collection as well and they are both MOC just like yours. Personally, I like the older figures much better because I grew up in that era. They were great and still are.

To most on this board (including me), 20 years is a long time. More than half the people weren't even born when those were made. Of course there were bound to be improvements. In 2030 we'll all be "ah yes RA's, the good ol days"...

Such an improvement and as it always is with technology, it is only going to get better.

What about the cases when the newer ones do not look as good Ted Dibiase for example the Hasbro one looks far better than the CS one. In fact I would say the Hasbro Hogans look better than the red and yellow CS8 ones.

I was just saying that 25 years is a long time and that I would have hoped that in that time figures would have evolved due to technology.

Isn't that technically the first Hulk Hogan action figure, like, EVER?
