The point of this Toy Fair is to get retailers interested in new product. They're already buying RA and DA, so there's no real reason to show them. It's entirely possible that nothing shown here will make it to shelves. It all depends on what the retailers want to buy.

My thoughts:

Raw Arena

A definite surprise from Jakks. On the box it looks spectacular for a Jakks product. The WWF logo is nonsensical, but of course it'll be changed by release day. We see a Paul London DA figure in what looks to be either Sabu pants (doubt it) or maybe even a new mold. I'll just it play it safe and say it's the Cena shorts. A new HBK is by the barricades in extremely baggy pants.

The screen itself is interesting. I wonder what they mean by Titan Tron Technology? I highly doubt they're reintroducing the TTL chips. I really like the little jagged things on the side, however that's outdated. The crowd should also extend all the way around. The barricades are awesome

Then you look at the actual prototype here at Toyfair and wonder just what the hell went wrong.

There's a bunch of cardboard everywhere and minimal detail! That little crowd section looks very neat, I'll give them that. There's no action chairs here either. Knowing Jakks this is how it'll actually turn out. Let's hope that this is just an early version based on the parts available at the present time. I'd like to think it would look as decent as it does on the box. That tron looks horrible in size.

Cell

Definitely cool, but I already bought The Cell. I think this will be a problem for Jakks in the future. If they were going to release this, the other one shouldn't have came out. I'm glad they made it larger in terms of height. It has aprons, too!

Egg heads

I actually like these. They look neat. However, I would probably only buy a few of them, if any at all. I don't understand the TV show ones. That's just weird. That cartoon statue of Umaga looks amazing.

CS16

There has to be a problem with these or something. They're supposed to be out in like a week and we haven't even see protos, and they only showed us a portion of the set today. Odd. However, that Giant Gonzalas is probably the coolest figure Jakks have ever produced. There's an insane amount of detail here that I fear will be downgraded by the release. If not, I might have to pick him up.
I like Sid but hate his boots. I'm glad Jakks are paying attention to the smaller things like elbow pad style now. Why can't they make that HBK in RA form? That would sell like crazy.

Max Aggression

Those Triple H heads are sadly outdated now, but man, are they awesome. I don't understand the point of changing hands. That's easy as hell to do in customizing. I want to change boots all the time, though. I'm sick of my midget Van Dams. These things do look cool, though. I love that Carlito and his new head. Oh yeah, I'm surprised they have a Rey Mysterio from SummerSlam RG already made.

Backstage Brawl

This one has been a long time coming. It reminds me of a scaled down version of that backstage area in one of the older Smackdown games (frequently seen with RVD doing a splash off the top). In fact, I'm fairly certain it's based off of that. This set is cool but how many times do you see wrestlers climb up staircases backstage? I'd rather have a long backstage area. My old TTL era backstage brawl set is collecting dust, so maybe I'll pick this one up. I wish they came out with more of this stuff when I was a kid.

Build N Brawl

This has Toybiz written all over it; from the packing to the title to the very idea behind it all. These things are kind of a waste. At least the Edge figure looks good. I love that Undertaker head.

All in all, fairly lackluster if you compare it to past Fall Toy Fair events (CSTT, RSR, etc.). At least there was a lot of new stuff unveiled. I'm glad they're branching out into new playsets.

They probably used a bunch of old parts on the Raw arena for ToyFair, especially with the WWF logo. It'll probably look different when it actually comes out. I can't wait to get it and the backstage thing. They'd work awesome together.


The egg heads/cartoony things/stuffed wrestler things are all more of a waste than Flex 'Ems were. We'll probably have to deal with them warming the shelves for a few years, probably even longer than the Flex 'Ems did(which I still sometimes see in stores).

cs 16 is top notch!

WOW. I'm really, really impressed, and they have yet to show us much. The new sets ideas, I honestly think are cool. The small DA figures are freaking awesome. Much better than MA, I'll buy them. Also, those egghead things are actually kinda cool. Might pick up Boogeyman and some of my other favorites. Also, the Maximum Aggression IS ING AWESOME. I just hope they're in scale with DA. Man this is awesome stuff. Also, CS16 is looking pretty nice so far.
