I picked this up last year. I basically just wanted barbed wire ropes. When you open it, it has only the regular red ropes. The picture on the box clearly shows that it has barbed wire looking ropes. I called Target and a guy who worked there opened another one up and it also had the red ropes so it wasnt just mine.
So I returned it but called Jakks. After explaining the situation, waiting for a callback, talking to a second person and explaining again I basically felt I got no where. The first person had no idea what ring I was even talking about. The second person knew but wasnt aware of a problem with the ropes but said she would look into it. Two weeks later I recived an envelope in the mail from Jakks and it was just a clear plastic bag with 3 ropes that look similar but not exactly like the ropes on the box.
I thought that was really great of them to actually follow up. I have not seen that ring anywhere else since then and in fact both targets I visit had all of those rings off the shelf within the 2 weeks. So Im not really sure if they were pulled or if a second wave came out with the ropes I was sent.
