Upon a trip to my nearest 24/7 Walmart, in order to get some ink cartriges, I checked out the toy aisle. I'm very spardic in when and if I buy any thing, but I checked out what they had.
about 5 or 10 minutes after checking out the WWE/TNA selection along with my dad, a guy starts asking what we were looking for if anything in particular. It took another minute to catch that he knew what he was talking about on name value alone.
The conversation moves to him saying "If you're looking for Chris Jericho we had to pull him off shelves" I obviously questioned why and his response was "Attempted or committed suicide" or something along those lines and automaticly my dad and me knew what he was refering to before he corrected himself.
Now that's fine and all, we all know Benoit related items like dvds, t-shirt, matches and figs are being pulled left and right. But listen to this.
On the back of the box he showed me a figure, may have be a Deluxe Aggression Sabu, don't quote me on that. Hell it could have been one of the recent RA lines.
On the back, convientently placed was a WWE logo in between the proto pics.
So is this essentially old news to those buying or have you already noticed this?
It's kind of sad to think WWE pushed him to do what he did, but that's not my motive of posting in here just wondered if anyone else spotted this.

He actually said Jericho? Yes which is why I asked "how come?" And sorry for the old news, I figured it wasn't a new thing they're doing. Just rather something you wouldn't notice, naturally. |

lol at clueless employees... i remember getting frustrated back in the late 90s with store workers thinking WCW = WWF, Goldberg = Steve Austin, and more. And there was this one guy back in 2003ish who kept saying "Ultimate Dragon" even though I corrected him like 5 times.
i mean i don't blame them, i mean you can't expect them to know everything about every product, but it can be frustrating when all they have to do is read the text on the box or hear the words I'm saying.
Still though, in the case of Benoit you should have corrected him so he doesn't think Jericho is a murderer

None of this is a big deal. Not everybody is anal about wrestling figures or wrestling in general. I work in a store, and I don't know every single detail about every single product we sell.
No matter how great Benoit was as a wrestler, the fact is he killed his wife, child, and then himself. WWE has every right to try to try to erase him from products.

I saw the DA set with Sabu yesterday and they had all but Benoit. I pretty much assumed he was pulled from the case before shipment but the proto on the back wasn't covered so I don't know. Maybe someone bought the Benoit's before I saw them.

The stickers are such a cheap way of covering his fig pics up. Seriously, they probably attract more attention because they are oddly placed on certain packages.
