Being a Wrestling fans always been toughed for me, theres so many insults thrown at it, and the fans who support it, "Wrestlings fake", "Its a bunch of sweaty guys touching each other up" and its not going to get easier now because of this Benoit thing, "Wrestlings fake, with murders and steroid abusing freaks."
I personally believe its just a shame that a legacy of Benoits is going to have Murder stamped on it from now on, anyway this isn't entirely about Chris Benoit, im also wondering how many people have had or do have a hard time of being a Wrestling fan when it involves people who are not a fan of it.

I dont care what people say about me liking wrestling. One time i was watching the WM 22 Edge vs Foley match and my friends mom said, Thats just grown men making fools of themselves. But really, i could care less. I love the WWE and everything about it

Yeah, someone said about the half naked men thing to me. Thinking about it, it may seem a little homo erotic to an outsider, but personally I don't even think about it or notice it. I think it's extremely entertaining seeing people cut awesome promos and doing moonsaults etc.
And yes, what Benoit did was unforgivable, but eventually it'll die down. What I really suggest is that the WWE cut down on steroids 100%, whether or not they influenced Benoit.

I have never had anyone insult me for being a wrestling fan. They may not like it, themselves, but no one has ever given me a hard time about it..

It's always been tough for me being a wrestling fan. It's hard because I love wrestling but I always try to hide it. I always get the "You know it's fake right?!" comments and the "Do you enjoy watching 2 sweaty men in tights groping each other" I hate it. Now Benoit dies and like every damn news site msn, yahoo, fox, etc. Bashing WWE saying the industry is full of deaths and crap. People who bash on Wrestling yet they watch UFC, isn't that the same thing where 2 men are in pants as well so I dont know. Also, people don't understand that it's entertainment. I HATE when I watch a UFC match that I want to see or Boxing match and it's like 1 minute long. Oh and it sucks that because a guy is muscular, it automatically means he takes steroids. Now even more people will think that.

It is more than annoying though, ive grew up with Wrestling the majority of my life, as soon as I got in to high school, I had sooo many people bad mouthing, and people new I was a big wrestling fan, I wasn't afraid to admit it, People gave me a hard time about it, One of the many reasons im glad ive left high school now and im old enough to join a promotion training were people around me are the same.

I'm not going to hide it. I say it with pride. I get the whole "It's fake" bullcrapall the time too. I just say that's nice & move on. My family aren't fans but they respect my choices. I mean, it's my time, my money (okay.. sometimes lol) so why shouldn't they respect it. They love racing.. even though I don't see the point in it but I still respect it.

I liked when CNN was reporting about the Benoit death, they could have easily blasted wrestling but instead they were like
"While wrestling may be fake or predetermined, these athletes are going out there putting out a huge effort to entertain the fans and have a very rough schedule" which was pretty flattering considering how media usually talks about wrestling.
