I posted this in the Hogan Oprah Thread yesterday. I'm cool with Hogan, but what an idiot the way that comes off. And even so, what kind of thing is that to say in this situation? She could have had the devil over for tea and what would that matter? The devil "worshiper" was the innocent one, yet the religious bible worshiper was the torturing murderer.
Interesting.

i don't care if Nancy worshipped Satan or Chuck Norris, she didn't deserve to get strangled to death. Besides, it's not like she actually worshipped him.. Chuck Norris Kicks Ass!! He will hit you with his Roundhouse Kick!! to be honest, i dont really care what she worshipped, its.... wait... was... her life

Hogan kayfabes everything all the time. I honestly don't know why people get so worked up about what he says in interviews.

I tend to stick up for Hogan, but this is just ridiculous. I seriously doubt he knew Benoit any better than Warrior did (though he certainly worked around him more). This is a little ridiculous, uncalled for an irrelevant.

Hogan is unreal. He probably believed that at full moons Benoit transformed into a "rabid wolverine" and had to feed off of people's souls.
The rest of that article went like this:
“Sometimes these people believe their own publicity. I heard she met Chris at a cult meeting where the theme of the night was werewolves. Since Chris was from Canada, he had to be bitten by a wolverine. So at full moons he would turn into this rabid wolverine and feed off of the souls of women and children. He tried to steal Brooke's soul once, but I dropped a big leg on him, and he got so scared he moved to Atlanta, brother. I'm the only one who has been known to beat him. Beefcake even gave him the Barber's Chair, but it didn't work. If you don't mind, I have to cut short this interview. Jimmy Hart just sent me a message that he has a lead on this. Some guy named Kevin Thorne who was in ECW with Benoit. I gotta go interrogate him. I'll be on Orpah next week talking about this and about my daughter Brooke's new cd.”

Next we'll find out that Chris and Nancy had a baby farm, where they raised babies to make soups. That's how wierd this story keeps getting, it's only the next logical step.

It's actually known that her and Kevin Sullivan were heavy into Satanism back in the 80s.

It's actually known that her and Kevin Sullivan were heavy into Satanism back in the 80s. In actuality, she and Sullivan only portrayed characters of that type. They didn't really worship Satan. In fact, Sullivan never actually addressed "Satan" in any promo he did during those days in Florida. The gimmick was very clever; it was certainly a cult group he had there that appeared to be all about devil worship, but they never actually said they were devil worshippers. Anyway, in Hogan's defense (and I certainly don't have much love for the guy): the news media have been picking apart quotes from wrestlers left and right regarding this tragedy. How in the hell do we know what Us Weekly really asked Hogan? They could have asked him "Well, what kind of characters did Nancy play?" Hogan mentions the "devil worship" character and they're all over it. Coulda asked him "Do wrestlers get too caught up in their own hype?" Yes, Hogan's guilty of this - as are most wrestlers - but they obviously took what he said and ran off with it. Boom, a sensationalized news piece to pump more mileage out of this tragedy. Before you guys go running off using this as a crutch to engage in more immature Hogan bashing, consider ther nature of the media and their poor coverage of this whole story. I am willing to bet what Hogan actually said and what got printed are vastly different.

I'm sorry that you missed my sarcasm. In a world where fans believe there are two different Ultimate Warriors (cos of course one died in a car accident, doncha know?) and believe "It's still real to me, dammit", how am I supposed to know what's sarcasm and what isn't anymore? LOL

I love how everyone bashes Hogan, yet none of us are in the wrestling business. Its ironic that Hogans wrong, and a bunch of people on the net are always right.

Another possibility is that Sullivan put the seed in Hogan's mind that Nancy was something along those lines, as he was dealing with that whole break up while booking for WCW. I can see him saying something like that while angered and Hogan went with it.

I can see him saying something like that while angered and Hogan went with it. Anything's possible, but still, I find it kind of sad and pathetic that these little smarks are using this tragedy and one man's viewpoint (which as I stated before was probably a big misquote) as a platform to do more Hogan bashing, like they just wanted an excuse to do some. I am all for making fun of the guy in good fun, but some of these kids take it to cruel extremes. Just pathetic. Leave the balding walrus alone, kids. He's harmless. So, why is no one throwing Roddy Piper under a bus for telling the press yesterday , "I'm one hundred percent behind Chris Benoit"? Great, so he's supportive of a double murderer who took his own life. Yet no one is starting a thread about that, are they?
