Well, I was watching the Monday Night Wars on WWE 24/7, the date was February 10th, 1997. They edited out a promo by Kevin Sullivan where he talks about Benoit and Women. Then the main event for Nitro was edited it was Benoit & Steve McMicheal vs. Jarrett & Chavo..
How long can do erase history like this. Benoit later in WCW goes up winning tag titles, US title and is eventually in the Main Event, can they actually edit this? Right now, Benoit is more in a feud that doesn't matter in Nitro but when he holds a belt or in the main event, can they still edit everything?
I think by next year, hopefully even in a few months this thing ends and they start putting him back. You don't have to respect Benoit or like him, but your can't take away what he has done, and that is what WWE is doing.

However, Chris Benoit is still in WM23, which they also just put up. I think they took it out because it involves Benoit & Woman. I'd be willing to bet once the storyline with Sullivan wraps on the MNW Benoit's matches will all be back in.

For WWE to forget everything Benoit's done in his career because, over three days, he had a mental breakdown that had horrible results, is disrespectful to one of the true greats. They need to put him back into the shows.

They should not remove everything he ever did in wrestling just over what he did outside of wrestling. They already recalled his figures, whats next recalling all the ppv dvds and rereleasing them without his matches on them.

It's horrible since WWE now wants people to remember him as a murderer instead of a great wrestler but I can understand why they're doing it.

Accually he was edited out of WrestleMania 23 on my cable. It is crap. Look no one here agrees with what he did, or if he was in his right mind when he did it. But deleting his past makes no sense. If you had a family member who did this, .... do you take down all his pictures in the house, and forget he ever existed? NO
Everyone who has WWE 24/7, needs to send their comments to WWE. You can do it fromt their website. Enough complaints, and maybe they will change it.

it's a PR move, it's too soon for people to try to integrate him back into wrestling without a backlash. Come 2 years he'll be mentioned liek any other wrestler whose gone, just maybe not as fondly.

When you say edited out, what do you mean? How do you edit them out of a match, blur the whole person?! They edited out the speech where Kevin talked about him. And they took out Benoits Match he was apart of. |
