Would you still buy the WWE Anthologies of Summerslam and Survivor Series when they eventually come out if WWE edits out any matches including Chris Benoit?
It seems like WWE is attempting to erase any history of Benoit in the company so while I hope they wouldn't, I could see them edit out his matches. Might be tough though since he was involved in some of the main events of those PPVs.
Personally, I would still buy them for the same reason I bought the other ones...to get the events from the 80's and 90's on DVD. I have all of the later ones anyways. What would you do?
**Please note I am not trying to start any arguments over whether Benoit should be edited out or not, I'm just asking if you'd still buy the product if they did.**

I don't buy them anyways. I would rather spend 200.00 + on something diffrent. Plus, there are sites out there that have every one of the SummerSlam & Survior Series on DVD non-edited that you can buy for a couple of dollars.

They wouldn't bother me since most of the reason I would be buying them is for pre-Benoit WWE since own most every PPV he is in since he came when they made every PPV on DVDs

There's no way they'll edit out Benoit matches. If you look at the WWE website there is still articles about him winning the Royal Rumble and the belt at Wrestlemania. The WWE is just trying to seperate themselves from the tragedy.

I hope they're edited so it saves me the trouble of skipping Benoit matches

I would only buy the sets that lead up to the ones that are already available on DVD (Like with WM where I plan on buying VOL 1,2 and 3, because I already have most of those PPV's from Vol 4 on DVD)

No, they wouldn't be giving me the shows in their entirety. It would be a ripoff and I would feel cheated, personally. And they would definitely be getting less buys than they could.

Yes I would, because it would add to my collection of the past 2 anthologies I have bought. If the did edit out the Benoit matches it might be a little annoying, but I would still get for my collection and it would look good displayed with my other Anthologies.
I hope the color scheme is different for the box like have with WM and RR boxes. SS should be Orange or Green

Nobody anywhere is selling stuff for "a couple of dollars", most of the reputable tape dealers out there want like 15-20 bucks per tape / DVD....

There is no way they can do this. What would be the main event for SS '04? And all the matches he has been in for Survivor Series and other Summer Slams.

I don't know if I'd buy them regardless to be honest. I'm so turned off on wrestling altogether b/c of Benoit right now.

No. I would not. The simple solution would be to release sets before 2000 when Benoit joined WWE. Because SummerSlam and Survivor Series events from 1999 to current are already on DVD.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest, I would only be buying for the more 'classic' stuff, and I would probably only get Survivor Series

Best suggestion. Then I would buy the anthology. But they would have to release Survivor Series 1999 because it never got a release. Only SummerSlam 1999 did. But Benoit wasn't with WWF until January 2000 anyway.

WWE knows that if they totally took Chris Benoit out of everything, it's going to hurt their sales. They're not that stupid.
I don't even really understand where this question is coming from. Is this stemming from Wal-Mart pulling the Ladder Match DVDs? Because that wasn't WWE's decision. In fact, my four local Wal-Marts are all still selling them.
Or is this stemming from WWE editing Benoit out of the SmackDown! intro and the "Don't Try This At Home" video? Basically, it boils down to this: he was eventually going to be out of the SmackDown! intro. He got drafted to ECW. And editing him out of the other video was a no-brainer. They took Rikishi out when they released him. You still heard his voice, but ou saw the Big Show. So,no big deal there either,
Basically, what it boils down to is that the WWE realizes that, if they edit out Chris Benoit matches, they're taking away some of the best matches in recent history. If they edit him out of the SummerSlam anthology, they're eliminating the entire main event of the 2004 event.
WWE's not that stupid. You shouldn't be either.

I doubt they'll edit out everything with Benoit in it. That'd be crazy.
