Setting yourselves up for disappointment Exactly. This is similar to Project 161, how can it not be? With all these smart asses on the board calling me dumb, mr. wizard, and whatever else you thought of, i am allowed an opinion. Anyway, back to 161. The hype is the same, some weird videos, with some clues thrown in and such. Yes, the end product wont be the same, but the hype is. Project 161 just finished, and i bet the booking team is basing this on 161. How can they not be? I highly doubt its Jericho anyway, then that would be a letdown releasing all the info this early on in the story. Like I said earlier Unless Jericho comes out and hangs Cena from the ceiling by his feet and then cuts a promo under him while getting covered in blood then I will agree with you but this has no similarities to Project 161/Age of the Fall. The whole angle was a nice idea but the end result was kind of a let down after all the hype it got online from the roh fans saying it was so great but after seeing it, it was nothing special. Sure it made for a cool picture moment but that's about it. |

Oh yeah, everything ROH does is completely 100% original, and Project 161 was the first group ever to use cryptic, viral advertisement to promote something. This isn't a new thing. Project 161 didn't originate the idea of releasing strange videos and messages for others to decode. Yes, the idea isn't original, but it still wasn't original when ROH did it either.
Personally, I think they're doing a great job with this, no matter what it's hyping. Of course Jericho would be very much preferable.

From what I know, the 161 thing never really gave clues to who the people were or whatever. They were just BLOGS on a website.

Various clues in the blogs, and changing the pics on the actual website. And to Death:Bear, you said ROH didnt create angles like this, yes sure, but neither did Vince, just so everyone else knows as well  |

I thought it had something to do with Jericho when I first saw it on Monday night as well. The countdown thing was a dead giveaway. It just reminded me so much of Jericho's titantron video. However, like it was stated above, this is wrestling and it could be a complete swerve. WWE probably wants everyone to believe it's Jericho returning and in the end, they could swerve everyone and it could be someome totally different, like The Rock. You never know. However, there was one part during that clip where I put it in slow motion and went frame by frame and it may be another clue, so here's a screen cap of it:  1998_06:46:25 I'm not too sure if that means anything or not. Just thought I'd let you know, that's all. Also, here's another screen cap and another hint or clue that it could be The Rock returning. If you look at the bottom, it clearly says "May2", which just happens to be The Rock's birthday.  Either way, if it's The Rock or Chris Jericho returning, it'll be awesome. |

May 2, 2000 was also the date that Jericho won the Intercontinental Title from Benoit, so that might be it, too.
If it winds up not being Jericho, you just KNOW there's going to be 100 smartasses on this board laughing at everyone who thought it would be him.

What's so wrong with enjoying what we're given? Seriously? Yes, this is similar to project 161 (to an extent.) Both, only really have the whole "fans-investigate" logic. And if it's jericho: awesome, if not: it would suck, yes, but hey might as well enjoy it like they intend us to, it's eaiser that way.

Wonder if they will just reair the one from RAW/ECW on SD, or if we will get a new one on SD, or if we will have to wait for next week's RAW for a new one.

Thats like me saying something on the lines of "lol @ everyone have stupid actors as their name", or "lol @ everyone using Pee Wee characters as their name". But do I? No. And whys that? If It's Jericho this is how i think this storyline will progress
Next Week Diuring Raw: Cuts off a John Cena romo
No Mercy: Lights Go Out........New Video airs. Slowly progresses and SAVE_US.222 pops up and it it goes from SAVE_US.222 to SAVE_US.Y22 to SAVE_US.Y2J and the arena goes black again. the lights come on and randy ortan rolls up cena. ; ). Over the next few weeks this keeps happening and at Cyber Sunday the poll for who randy ortan Faces is interupted and the video airs again and his entrance Plays and he comes out and Beats Ortan.
Makes everyone happy. John Cena Loses, RKO is a transitional champ , and Jericho is back and champ

My only argument against the return being at No Mercy is the fact that that would've give them much time to air the ad. If he was coming back at No Mercy you'd think they would've aired this several weeks ago to give it proper build -- but hey, ya never know.
