Yeah, I wouldn't bet on it. I think that is the official WWE title for this Era, not just a novelty Cena item.

Did Finlay give any sign that he was faking, before jumping off of the stretcher? If he did, I missed it. Because I was just like, "Holy shit" when he hopped off, lol.

After his head hit the floor and the ref turned his back, he clearly opened his eyes and lifted his head up. Then, when the ref looked at him again, he put his head back down and closed his eyes.

While the pay-per-view wasn't horrible, it really makes me wonder what is going through WWE's mind at times. There was so much potential to deliver a blow-away show that would have people talking but, in the end, No Mercy was nothing more than an ego stroke. First, with the lack of matches signed for the show, Undertaker & Kane vs. MVP & Hardy should have been added. Second, Chris Jericho SHOULD HAVE DEBUTED TONIGHT. No Mercy was held in Chicago, the town he debuted in eight years ago. The crowd was ready, they wanted him, and Vinnie Mac failed to deliver. That is why people are turning away. Give them what they want.
The biggest problem with tonight's show goes by three initials: H.H.H. As a wrestling fan for close to twenty years, I've never seen an ego stroke--with the possible exception of Hogan's WM 9 title win--than what I watched tonight. First, Triple H comes to the ring and makes himself number one contender for absolutely no reason. Then, he proceeds to beat Orton--the top heel and the guy with bigger heat than he's had at any time in his career--and win the WWE CHampionship. But that wasn't good enough. We couldn't have just had Triple H go away and celebrate tomorrow night on Raw. Nope, we got another Triple H match, this time against Umaga. And after a year and a half of building and molding Umaga into a viable main event star and sacrificing pretty much it's entire roster to him, Triple H throws it all away and beats him IN SIX MINUTES. This brings me to another point: because we absolutely had to have three Triple H matches, all of the other contests were screwed out of time. While the main event was damn good and Trips deserves a nice amount of credit for making it so, there is no reason both Orton and Umaga had to be beaten in order to get to that point.
It's a show like this that, come January-February when people are moaning and complaining about Triple H overexposure, the fans will be praying for a fully-recovered John Cena. People may have been sick of Cena's constant winning and extended title reign but he at least went out of his way to make his opponents look good. You may say Trips put Orton over clean in the main event but it wasn't before beating Randy (and Umaga) earlier in the night. That's the difference between Cena and Triple H. On a side note, if they wanted the Last Man Standing match between HHH and Orton and they wanted Randy to walk away as WWE CHampion, just book HHH vs. Umaga to be the number one contender's match, have Trips win (in a million times more competitive match) and challenge Randy in the main event. Put Orton over and accomplish the same goal. That's not what we, as fans, got and as a result, No Mercy won't be remembered as the night Randy Orton won the WWE title; it'll be remembered as the night that Orton got beat and then won the title from a guy who fought two other matches. Great booking, Vin Man. Save us, Jericho. Save us.

Y2J is still on tour anyway. According to his website, he's not doing anything until his book is released on the 25th.

Those save us videos only started two weeks ago. Vince is going to drag that out for as long as possible.

Ha... watch the ratings plummet now Rancid Orton is champ - just horrible... Also, Beth Phoenix was an embarrassment, tonight... I thought she was supposed to be a great wrestler?... To me, she doesn't look any better than Victoria or Candice... She was ing spots up all over the place tonight - she's meant to be a 'Glamazon'... yet she couldn't lift Candice off the mat, or for that piss-poor muscle buster... She sucks on the mic, too and she looks like a bloke... She should never have been called up before Katie Lea, IMO...

This was the first WWE show I'd been excited about for a while now. I usually don't get the PPVs anymore, but this one was pretty decent. I bought it mainly based on the mystery main event, and I thought Jericho was returning. Pretty good twists. If Orton hadn't won the main event, his career would have been over. I usually don't like such quick title changes, but they pulled it off so that the title still means something. I would have liked to see more of Punk vs. Viscera, that was shaping up to be a sweet match. The Punjabi Prison match sucked, and I mean SUCKED. My friends and I sat there and laughed the whole time. My friends who don't even watch wrestling know Khali as "The big crappy guy the WWE pulled off the streets of India." Other than those matches though, great show from WWE. They did something interesting and had a sweet main event.
