I thought about it, but I'd rather have a family. And I know the way I am, I wouldn't do well being on the road for so long and away from my family. And, you know, I'd like to live past 45.

Ok the whole "I want to live past 45" thing is stupid. Guys who didn't mostly had drug problems, didn't take care of themselves, suffered from depression, or were murdered. The last one is very unlikely as Bruiser Brody's and Rikidozan's careers were in a different time period. Rikidozan really doesn't count cause he died from infection, not the stabbing. But if you stay off pain killers, have a lighter schedule(not work for WWE), and take care of your life, you'll live well past 45. Look at Japan, the most they seem to have are alcohol problems. Which compared to being addicted to pills, isn't much. I wouldn't think about training until I have a degree to support myself through wrestling school and actually being a wrestler. Because in case it doesn't work out, I have a degree to get a job and still make good money.
Honestly I think I could be a good wrestler. I really have no plans for a family, if I had kids I'd raise them to be bungholes. Plus I don't really like kids. When I'm around my baby cousins, I seriously hope they're not given to me to hold because I just don't like kids. Even if I did, I would rather attempt to live out my dreams and do what I want before I had a family.
I before you except after me.

Seeing how many die before they are 45, no thanks. Count me out. I actually want to live to at least see 50 and with the on-going trend in wrestling, that just ain't going to happen. It's been proven how many times now?? Hennig...Boss Man....Earthquake....Miss Elizabeth...Louie Spiccoli....Crash Holly....Chris Candido...Eddie Guerrero...Rick Rude...Brian Pillman....Owen Hart...Crush...Mike Awesome...John Kronus...and on and on and on... Dont take drugs then? Nearly all of them in that list died early because of drugs Dont take drugs and you should be fine Back on topic: errr no, i would like to commentate or do some other job but its just so hard...

You're better off training in Philly with the likes of Mike Quackenbush, Chris Hero, Claudio, etc. at the Chikara Wrestle Factory. Why's that? They teach a much more modern, diverse style of wrestling than the Samoans probably would.

Yeah, I like how some of you are saying "Oh, just don't take any drugs then and you'll be fine". Man, what a bunch of crap. You do realize that's a whole lot easier said than done. I mean, after having years of wrestling, you probably don't have a choice but to turn to numerous pain pills and the rest of that garbage just to keep going night after night.
I'm sure at one point most of the guys I named off had that attitude of "just say no to drugs and you'll be fine". Yeah well, it certainly didn't last long and look where it got them. A friggin' early death because of the world of wrestling & that particular lifestyle where they all wanted to keep taking the stuff and keep going & going and going.
If you take numerous bumps over the years, I'm sure you'll get addicted to pain pills and stuff too even though you know not to, just to keep the show going.
In the end, it's clearly not worth it. You wreck your body and damage your heart and all for what? For a paycheck that you won't be around later to spend because you'll be dead.
Just face the facts already, if you get into wrestling, you friggin' won't live long and will more than likely die an early death, just due to the lifestyle those guys live.
I've just seen WAY too many of the wrestlers I grew up watching die an early death because they got into wrestling. I'm almost postitive that if they didn't get involved in the world of wrestling and that lifestyle, they'd ALL still be alive today. Try arguing that point.

Hulk hogan is still alive
Thats the risk you take with getting into wrestling. Stop bitching as if you lived the lifestyle and what not

Hulk hogan is still alive Thats the risk you take with getting into wrestling. Stop bitching as if you lived the lifestyle and what not Yeah, he is still alive, but for how much longer?? If you ask me, I think he's considerably lucky to be alive today after all the steroid use he's done. I have my doubts that Hogan will be alive in 10 years time. Hell, even in 5-7 years I think he'll be gone. I'd hate to say it, but it's true. All that steroid use WILL catch up to you. And I'm not bitching about anything buddy. I'm just voicing my opinion about it and apparently some people don't want to hear the truth. Too bad. Nothing you can do about it but just accept it and move on.

I'm joining a local school here in Jersey probably in a month or two's time.
I hate pills, I hate drugs, I hate smoke, and I never drink. So I pretty much live an Edge lifestyle. So living passed 45 'shouldn't' *knock on wood* be a problem.
However, most of those people mentioned died of drugs. So the 'dying before 45' is pretty stereotypical.

Its something I've thought about, and if I were to ever go into it, Id probably go to Japan to do so. But I dont see myself doing it, Id rather go to college and get my degree in Herpetology.
