I for one think Matt Hardy is ready for a main event push, and i think w/ Edge as the Champion now is the time.
Thoughts?

Not ready yet. Only because they need to build him up as a hungry and young competitor going for the title first and give him some key wins to prove his credibility.

I agree, he just needs a small streak as a singles competitor going for him and they need to push that angle. I feel he could do it, especially on Smackdown; The Land of Chances for Anyone.

Hardy needs a good US title run before he evers gets a world title shot. I'd be shocked if Hardy doesn't feud with MVP this year.

Give him a singles push first with the US and then build him like others have said... taking him and putting him in the spotlight would make no sense...
Kinda like when Edge one the title the first time... it made no sense cuz there was no build up of the character towards the title.... but it is still a moment that I will never forget...

I think Matt himself deserves it and is ready for it.. But TV wise yea first he should get a good run in the midcard..

I definitely think he's ready. Just give him some build 'em up matches, then throw him after Edge. That's money, whether any of you like it or not.

He has the skills and he's more passionate about the business that his brother EVER will be....but that southern accent just doesn't make him sound too intimidating while jawjacking on the mic. We all saw the fued with Edge. Edge wipped the floor with Hardy verbally....and we all know that you can't be World Champion (for too long) unless you can cut an effective promo.

Give him one year to prove himself capable of being a top superstar, and if he draws well, give him the belt

YES!
Slap on his V1 gimmick and he's already title material.

I think he is, not sure about a long term title, but a program with Edge for sure. I say something like Edge vs Hardy being a fall program, Hardy getting the belt possibly at Survivor Series, maybe even Rumble, but Edge winning it back before Mania.
Seriously, Hardy is not the best choice, but a program with Edge is the best of any chance to put him in a position where the belt makes sense. Personally though I think Hardy should just work on becoming complete. Right now Edge is the best thing on Smackdown and nobody is gonna dethrone him.

I would like to see him repackaged with that Angelic Diablo gimmick he was talking about doing before Lita and Edge got him fired. I would also rather see him go to RAW and win the world title there for two reasons: 1. I absolutely refused to watch SD because I despise Michael Cole, and 2. I really doubt that they would ever have Edge drop the any to Matt Hardy.

Hardy is probably the most constantly over guy on the smackdown roster today. His in ring skills are also very good. If he improves on the mic a bit than he can be a really big star. Still I would like to see him in the main event even if its only temporarily.

He's over like rover, give him a rocket and strap it to his ass and push him higher.
The fans are ready, Matt can be ready if given the chance.
