Over the weekend, the decision was made to go full-bore with Sherri death coverage and tributes on the company website, and keep the McMahon angle strong on television. Come Monday, WWE television producer Kevin Dunn made the decision to not have her passing mentioned on Raw. His reasoning behind this is because he thought the reality of Sherri's death would disconnect fans from the storyline of Vince McMahon's death. A lot of people were lobbying all day for him to change his decision. In a very last-minute decision, a compromise was made to put up a graphic an hour and 20 minutes into the show, just prior to the diva's match. A number of road agents who were very close to her lobbied hard all afternoon and finally managed to get it done. Michael Hayes spearheaded the movement, and since he has the most power of any of the agents these days (and is also the head Smackdown writer), it got done.
Another person who didn't want WWE to mention Martel's death on Monday night was Head Raw writer Brian Gewirtz. He fought hard for it to not happen, but in the end he lost out.

I'm glad they changed their mind. How horrible would have that been if they totally disregarded it?

both of them. I'm glad she got a ten-bell salute at IWA MS over the weekend. Ian Rotten obviously cares about her as she was part of the family. I have seriously lost all of my support for WWE. They're heartless.

Rick Rude didnt get a 10 bell salute and you still supported right? It's not that. It's WWE's piss poor attitude towards Sherri's death and not wanting to acknowledge it.

The only ones that get the 10 bell salute are those that died when they were with the company: Eddie,Owen, and Pillman. You act like shes the first not to get one.

That's not what I'm talking about (Even though Crash and Andre got one. But I won't get into that.). I'm saying that WWE were being totally heartless by considering not to acknowledge her passing on TV over some stupid angle.

I'm about to get all of my feelings out, right now. Sherri Martel was so good to WWE. She was a very big name in the early 90s. She managed Shawn Michaels to his first singles title in the WWF. Without Sherri, who knows where Shawn Michaels would be right now? And about more recent times, Sherri has been SO good to WWE. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame and entertained the crowd with a very interesting speech. I'm sure she went over a little bit on staying in kayfabe. But still, it was very good. And she was very appreciative. Why would WWE treat her like this? It's beyond me. There was no reason to treat her like that, with as good as she's been to WWE in recent years. It gives me a bad taste in my mouth, a very good person that is treated like this over a ing angle. Absolutely sickening.

This just proves that WWE is nothing but a bunch of cold, heartless scumbags. It's just ridiculous when they would rather keep hyping up a stupid storyline over an actual death. That's how much they care....
I'm glad she got a graphic and everything, but she deserved more. Just like Mr. Perfect, she should've got a tribute video or something a bit more than what they did.

Maybe it's because she's shown up drunk to every event she's attended recently?

The fact that they didn't wanna do it and they had to push for it, is down right disgusting and embarrassing.

The fact that they didn't wanna do it and they had to push for it, is down right disgusting and embarrassing. Especially after everything Sherri has done for that company and ECW and WCW and women's wrestling and for the careers of Shawn Michaels, Randy Savage and Ted DiBiase and others. WWE should be ashamed of themselves. Bunch of scumbags...

F*ck Kevin Dunn and f*ck Brian Gewirtz! They didn' want to honor the legit passing of Wrestling legend in favor of keeping a fake death storyline strong just plain makes me sick! This is disgusting and I'm ashamed of being a WWE fan right now.

WOW! just wow. K, lets ignore the REAL death of one the best, if not the best womens manager ever to push our bullcrap, fake death storyline. Actually, this doesn't shock me, I mean, they did piss all over the deaths of Eddie and Owen with that horse crap SD show last week. More proof that the WWE is run but total ing morons. Dunn and Gerzcrap should both be sent to Iraq to get blown the up, and do it in a limo too
