Since the 2000s began on January 1, 2000 up until today (June 25 [or 26 depending where you live], 2007) what do you think has been the biggest news incident pro wrestling wise of the decade?
I say this Benoit thing. You've got a 21 year veteran of the business and a legend as possibly a suicidist/murderer of his family, in what will probably gain national news coverage.
Even weirder that it happened right after Sherri Martel's death and during the Vince McMahon death angle.
This to me is even bigger than TNA being created, ECW/WCW going out of business, Guerrero's death, or anything.
What do you guys think has been the biggest?

I'd personally say that WCW going out of business was the biggest news, bar-none. However, we've seen a lot of huge pro wrestling news since 2000.

I say the final results will determine if this is the biggest news story of this decade. If it turns out--and God knows I'm hoping and praying that it doesn't--that Benoit killed his wife and child, then I definitely believe this is the biggest story. If they were murdered, I believe it comes in second or third but not first. I say this only because so many people have so many good things to say about Chris Benoit and how important respect is to him that it would seemingly be the ultimate DISRESPECT to kill his family.

The buyout of WCW by WWF. WCW a company that had profits of close to $100 million being bought for about $2 or $3 million, thats a huge story.

Beniot. I was got finished watching the 12 o'clock news on channel 7, The Beniot Story was first, and it was about 5 minutes.
