Why the heat towards Hogan? I don't understand why people on this board have so much crap to say about the Hulkster?
* Oh, he's greedy and all he wants is money!
Hmm... isn't that the whole point of America? The whole point of Business? Hulk Hogan is the most successful wrestler in the history of the sport. The reason is that he is a smart business man. He did not allow himself to be used by the companies he help build. Greedy? So what? Smart is more like it. Most wrestlers that complain about that WISH they could have what Hogan has and wish they could be even a fraction of what he meant for the sport. All this critisism about money is just jealousy. It truly is.
* He's too old!
Again, so what? If people want to see him then he's not. He gets better ovations than the biggest stars of today. He can go face on face with any of the populars today and the fans will boo them out of the building. If you are watching on TV, who cares what you think? What matters is that people will still pay money to go see him.
* Vince.
The guy is just sore that he never had the chance to break Hogan. Everytime you think Hogan is done, he comes back with something historic. Think of WCW. Think of his match with the Rock. Look at his Hall of Fame induction. The whole dang place was chanting "one more match!".
On what grounds can you put him down? He is the most accomplished star in the business, he is smart with marketing and money, and he still has a larger fan following than any top star today.

Dude, how long have you been on the Internet? Don't you know that you're supposed to hate anything and everything that is popular and/or mainstream?

Seems like people don't like keeping discussion in the same thread today.

I’m not discussing things about his promotion idea. I’m talking about the general dislike of Hulk Hogan. What I don’t get is with the online community hating him, how is he getting so many cheers when he is infront of live crowd? Things aren’t adding up.

I grew up on (80's)Hogan. I have and always will like Hogan. People will always try to bring you down when you're on top of the mountain. If you're king of the castle, you should get paid like one. Most of the wrestling fans today haven't been watching wrestling long enough to apprecriate the older guys but it's ok, everyone has their generation of wrestlers. The majority of mine have retired or died. So it's not that Hogan is too old, it's that the fans are too young.

Im a Hogan fan and really dont give a crap if he never jobs. He shouldnt have to. Most are just angry because he didnt "put over" their hero, Shawn Michaels. I dont think they realize that HBK doesn't need put over. Hes been over since 96.

and Hogan has been over since 86? Whats your point? Michaels is on the television roster. Hogan is a "special attraction". How "special" is it when the "attraction" gets beat?

I am a Hogan fan no doubt about it... however he CLEARLY only wants money... That is more blatantly obvious than a gun wound to the head. Also, out of all of the backstage politicians, he is easily one of the worse right beside Taker... You can't remember the last time Hogan or Taker jobbed cleanly. Yet all of the other ones (Trips, Shawn, Flair, etc) have all jobbed cleanly to do what one calls "putting someone over". While Trips or Shawn don't do it as often as they should they do do it (Shelton beating Trips three times anyone?)So I don't have a huge problem with Hogan but I think my message is clear when I say that someone needs to start a reality show featuring Hulk Hogan and Gene Simmons... put those two together

Fact is, both Hogan and Taker have characters that should not be beat cleanly or they loose luster. Taker is the deadman. If he loses to everyone, then his character will die. And he is too big of an attraction for that to happen. Hogan was the “unbeatable Hulk”. He would not be so if he jobbed. When he became Hollywood, he jobbed pleanty. He looked weak even against smaller guys like Flair. He did a good job, and put over some of the biggest names in the business. As for the now Old Hogan... he needs no approval from anyone of the jobbing. He is a special attraction, and people did not come to see him lose. Not even to the young guys.
Always remember WM18. Rock was THE star and was breaking out mainstream. Huge babyface and LOVED by the fans. Hogan has been out of action at that point for like 3 years and was old. Not to mention heel character. And yet the crowd sided with him. They WANT him to win, no matter how old he is. They did in 1985, and they do now.

Hogan putting over young talent is a bad thing...why?
Who cares if he is a special attraction, I'm a fan of 80's and 90's wrestling, grew up watching it, yet I still believe Hogan should lose on occasion.
What defense do you have for something like, say, WrestleMania 9? Why was that Hogan appearance needed in the main event?

Because Hogan was not originally scheduled to be there. Vince asked him to show up due to poor attendance at the time. Even 1993 he was a special attraction. So he got the whole tag match. But it was Hogan that requested to be in the main event. Greedy? Maybe. But the fan reaction was very positive and the finish ended up being one of the most remembered.
This is further proven by the fact that when Undertaker was taken out by the medics with his match against Gonzales, everyone was chanting for Hogan. People love Hogan vs Big Man. Hence the Yoko angle.

the hulkster is still my all time favorite wrestler...yeah its these young ones that didnt get to see his matches from the early 80s to the early 90s that dont know...i dont get all the bashing...i dont bash any wrestler thats there today..even though there is a lot that i dont think should even be in a ring but thats besides the point..the things hogan did made him larger than life..none of the talent now will be like that..hulk rules

Hogan a greedy old man. Instead of doing things that help the company or a certain Legend Killer/Soon to be Next WWE Champion that will remain nameless get over. Refusing to job to the "Legend Killer" or Shawn Michaels or anybody is just patheic. Triple H jobs to people, not often but he does. Shawn Jobs to people. Cena jobs to.... people barely, but he does. Hogan shouldnt be winning ALL of his matches. Plus, remaking History at WrestleMania 23 was in the plans, and it couldve made the event better, but Hogan "didnt get paid enough money" even though he's more or less a millionaire.
The way I see it, Hogans a a washed up jock who can still play, but wont because he doesnt get what he wants, as far as Im concerned, screw Hogan. He doesnt deserve respect anymore
