CWE Commissioner J. Jody Jenkins is proud to announce that CWE has won a 13 month battle with World Wrestling Entertainment to retain the Ontario Championship. WWE Superstar, Robbie McAllister was last to hold the Ontario Championship before he was signed by World Wrestling Entertainment.
While WWE wished to incorporate the title into their weekly television broadcast of “Monday Night Raw,” the CWE board of directors fought to keep the Ontario Championship within a CWE ring.
Late Tuesday evening, CWEAction.com learned that the Ontario Championship has been successfully shipped home to the CWE Offices.
Commissioner Jenkins has confirmed that a new Ontario Champion will be crowned at CWE Boiling Point on August 25. The vacant title will be suspended over 20 feet above the ring in one of wrestling’s most dangerous matches, The Ladder Match.
Stay tuned to CWEAction.com for more information as it becomes available.

I think that this confirms that Vince is pulling for a new title. Sorta like the TV one.

What would the point of an Ontario Championship be?? I mean if he wants a midcarder/lower mid carder title just bring back the European title or make a TV title

It would be a pointless title. Test was a Eruopean champion.. and he didnt win the belt in Europe.. and he isnt from Europe.
This looks like a sign that WWE are expanding and creating seperate promotions (like OVW) in different regions. Ladies and Gentlemen, sit back and watch as Vincent Kennedy Mcmahon changes the face of wrestling as you know it. for those of us who will hopefully be here in twenty years, i imagine that WWE will be the Only wrestling company in the world, with smaller promotions being ran by it in different parts of the world.

We dont need anymore titles. If everyone is a champion then it means less. Less is more.

Yeah, take a title that means something in a Canadian wrestling promotion and put it in WWE where it wouldn't make sense unless only Canadians won it.

Or for s sakes, another god damn title they want? The titles they already have dont mean thing, they're worthless, lost all prestige they ever had. If anything, they need to take away and get back to making the titles they have mean something again and have merit, start be having a WWE champion again instead of a whole roster full of them.

screw that, bring back the hardcore tittle! Hell yeah! The hardcore title was great and it brought tons of great memories/matches. The only problem is that the guys from today wouldn't really fit into the "hardcore" category. But if people like The Miz and Matt Striker are on ECW then I'm sure that they could pull it off.

I'm from the province and I don't see the point of there being an Ontario title. As people have been saying; if they want a new title for lower-mid-card wrestlers, just bring back the European or just make the "Ontario Title" the Canadian Championship.

They need to get rid of some titles, not create more.

Just scrap the split, have one World Title, one set of Tag belts then the Womens, Cruiser, Intercontinental, and United States. Then maybe a Hardcore or Television for the lower mid-carders who aren't quite ready for US and IC.

This is BS
It seems more like Robbie signed a contract while he was champion and that was that, they just made a angle up to make them look like their belt is the best ever, and besides I dont think Vince would want to steal a belt from a no name indy promotion.
