- The original planned ending for the anniversary Raw episode would have seen Vince McMahon being laid out by either The Undertaker or Steve Austin, and concluding with Bret Hart locking on the sharpshooter to end the show. Of course, WWE was unable to get Hart to agree to do the show.
- Paul Heyman was never officially invited to the anniversary episode, but feelers were sent his way. Heyman showed no interest in doing the show.
- The new WWE/NBC Universal television contract calls for two WWE specials annually on NBC.
- The new WWE television contract expires at the same time Spike's contract with TNA expires.

I highly doubt that, but, could see it happening.

Bret Hart wouldnt be able to do that even if he agreed.
Anybody even know how he is these days? I met him last month and he actually could barely walk, let alone apply a wrestling manuever.

Leave it to Bret to turn down an opportunity on WWE television.

Bret needs to get over it. It would have been awesome to see that, and if that doesn't serve as the goodbye he's always wanted to give WWF fans, I don't know what will. The Hall of Fame induction then ditching on Mania isn't a very cool goodbye in my opinion.
I wish WWE would hurry up and fire Heyman so I can enjoy his work somewhere else.

He must have been really sick when you met him because Bret has been hitting the gym big time last I heard he was benching almost 300 pounds which isn't too damn bad for a guy who has had a stroke and a career ending injury.

The Hall of Fame induction then ditching on Mania isn't a very cool goodbye in my opinion. Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter " WWE's rocky relationship with Bret Hart has taken yet another bad turn. The two sides had been negotiating an agreement for the publishing rights to Bret Hart's autobiography in the United States. Those negotiations have fallen through and Bret will be shopping the book elsewhere.
According to Dave Meltzer, Bret had a verbal agreement saying that the company would not change one word. When he was given the contract to sign, the terms were completely different than what was previously agreed upon. WWE demanded final say on anything they found objectionable. Bret was told that 400 of the book's 533 pages would need to be changed, which was a deal breaker." Who knows maybe Bret would've showed up... Umm.........

I am on the "Bret Screwed Bret" side, and I don't care what side any of you are on, because 99% of us would have popped if Bret's music hit and he ran out to the ring.

I'm glad he didn't, I already basically called him out on being a hypocrite for appearing on the Vince Death Raw at the RSF Q&A...

You say whatever you want after the show, it's too late anyways.
