I just got back from Hershey, PA Smackdown/ECW house show. It was awesome! First off.....I had fantastic seats. First row and on the aisle. All the wrestlers had to walk by me to get to the ring. And the ring steps were in front of me. So a lot of guys would stop there and pose.
The arena was packed. It wasnt a sell out, but one of the largest turnouts I have seen. One of the early matches featured Mark Henry against Jimmy Wang Yang. Henry came to the ring and made some ringside kid cry his eyes out. Funny and then after Henry squashed Yang, he walked down the stairs and I offered him some popcorn. He grabbed my box and tore it to shreds. There was popcorn everywhere. It was hilarious!
They had a lousy bikini show down, which was completely rigged. Kelly Kelly was easily more over than any other diva and they awarded it to Michelle McCool. Total crap. Layla is much hotter in person. Kelly Kelly is gorgeous. And Michelle McCool looks better on tv.
Chuck Palumbo rode his bike around the ring. Wasnt expecting that. He came out to confront Jamie Noble. Crowd was really confused, as both people played the roll of heels. Noble wins with a handful of tights and then was injured. I didnt see what happened. All I know is that he rolled out of the ring and was down for about 10-15 mins. Trainers, refs and even Dean Malenko came running out. Eventually Noble walked out with some assistance.
CM Punk was mad over with the crowd. More kids than adults were cheering, but whatever. Chavo actually got a good amount of cheers as well. Punk used the Anaconda Vice tonight. That was sweet. Punk won with a GTS in a damn decent match. Good wrestling, reversals, holds, etc.
Undertaker/Kane were easily the most over at the show. Unfortunately, their match with Khali and BDV bored the hell out of me. For some reason Undertaker asked for a bottle of water during the bout and poured the water over his head. Kane played the face in peril.....so I dont know why Taker needed the water. Whatever. I'm glad there was no pyro. I hate Kane's pyro when sitting that close. BDV is enrmous, but Khali was a lot smaller than I expected. I have seen Big Show up close and Big Show is much larger it seems. After UT/Kane won, Khali was staggering up the aisle and almost tripped over himself and stumbled near several little kids. I thought they were in for it.
Main Event saw Edge vs. Batista. Batista was extremely over. Edge was being booed right out of building......cept for me. Edge came to the ring and destroyed some kid's Batista sign. That was funny. Edge went all over the crowd. They fought all along ringside and into the crowd. Trash cans, chairs, etc. were being used. Batista even took someone's soda and splashed Edge in the face with it. When they came over my way, Batista layed out Edge and the ref kept asking Edge if he wanted to continue. He didnt respond, as I did for him. The ref. kept laughing and asking Edge again. I kept telling the ref that Edge was gonna get up and win. He had Batista where he wanted. Batista started laughing and told me I was delusional. In the end, Edgeheads come down and attack Batista. Edge gets the win and the crowd boos. I cheer and get a high five from Edge. Batista spent a few minutes shaking hands with fans. He came over to me and I showed him The Rated R Spinner and told him he was close, but Edge had his number. Told him to hit the showers. Instead he playfully jabbed at my chest. Cool moment. Batista has a sense of humor.
That was pretty much the night. Its been awhile since I had last been to a house show. Had a great time and cant wait for them to return.
