Now Trips is one of my favorite wrestlers, he gets pops and heat off promos and entrance alone. But come on, 11 times since 1999? And he started dating Stephanie maybe a little after 2000 (that's when he broke up with Chyna).
Over 1999, he won the title twice, nothing big. When 2000 hit, he was champ 4 times (two more in the year; not bad). But this is when HHH started to "use his power dating the boss' daughter) when he was the first WWE WHC in 2002. From 2002-2005, he's won the title 5 times. Married Steph in '03, had a daughter in '06 (another "filthy, dirty, disgusting, brutal, bottom-feeding, trash-bag ho", huh? You can thank Jericho for that) His most recent was in October of this (soon to be last) year at No Mercy. Now why does it sound like I'm complaining? MAybe because how people say how long his reigns are, and how short the people who beat him reigns are when he won them back.
Hmm, lets take note: WWF/E Title Period Triple H (1) August 23, 1999 Lost: Sept. 14 Triple H (2) September 14, 1999 Lost: Nov. 14 Triple H (3) January 3, 2000 Lost: April 30 Triple H (4) May 21, 2000 Lost: June 25 June 25, 2000-March 17, 2002 (Period without WWF/E Title) Triple H (5) March 17, 2002 Lost: April 21 WHC Period (#/# means Reign as WHC/Overall title reigns) Triple H (1/6) September 2, 2002 Lost: Nov. 17 Triple H (2/7) December 15, 2002 Lost: Sept. 21 ('03) Triple H (3/8) December 14, 2003 Lost: March 14 Triple H (4/9) September 12, 2004 Lost: Vacated on Dec. 6 Triple H (5/10) January 9, 2005 Lost: April 3 (Title became SD! Exclusive during the draft) Recent WWE period (6/11 means 6th reign as WWE Champ/Overall title reigns) Triple H (6/11) October 7, 2007 Lost: Oct. 7
So, did he have one too many, was it an abuse of power, or is HHH really that over? Discuss

Why do people not realize that he actually makes the belt seem meaningful when he has it? Or maybe its just me.

Triple H deserved all of those title reigns. Next your gonna say the Hardy Boyz were tag champs too much. All i can say is Triple H is one of the best champs ever!

I love Triple H as champ, either if he's a face or heel it doesn't matter really. Although a heel Triple H champ just adds more to his whole "Game" persona. N btw what happened at No Mercy was bullcrap! I hate Orton as chamo and would have much preferd Triple H as champ!

its def not because he is super over- austin is the most over guy ever and his title reigns arent like that it is a blatant abuse of power
he isnt as good as hbk y2j booker t rvd or even kane and i believe he knows in his heart these guys are more over and he just doesent care- he wants to play ric flair. hhh will never amount to half of what naitch is- but he has the power to play dress up. bret hart hbk warrior rock austin
all great over champions
hhh/cena just guys vince wants us to like- hand slected!!!!!!!!!!
most guys earn their push now vince chooses and grooms the guys he wants you to like

HHH's career w/ Vince has lasted a lot longer.

Triple H has been in some of the most brutal matches in WWE and has always put on an awesome performance.

Triple H has always made a World Championship look like a million bucks. And the sheer fact that he is an 11 time champion, kayfabe wise, is an excellent characteristic. The guy can make you hate him just by showing his face sometimes. His heel promos are unmatched, and his in ring skill is top notch. His Ring Psychology is superb, and throughout the years he has been able to tell a story through his matches. His look and gimmick over the years as a heel was built up excellently. He damn sure has the look of a champion, and he damn sure has the skills of a champion.
People will say its just because of Stephanie. And maybe it is. But that doesn't matter. The point is, Triple H is capable of telling an excellent story. An Ultimate battle of Heel vs Face, can always be done with Triple H. He has the charisma, talent on the microphone, talent in the ring, and is an all around phenomenal worker. Definitely worthy of almost every title reign.

HHH did not win the belt because of Steph. He had it because he desreved it. Come on, when you watched him in DX in 98/99 you knew you were saying "he's gonna be champ one day." And there, he is.
And morrison>punk easily (nice name btw, agree), Bret Hart had ridiculous title reigns as well

HHH is the best in the buisness, he deserved to be WWE champion as many times as he has, he brings prestige to the title

In late 2004 is when it became too much. Orton shouldn't have even won the belt, but Triple H taking the title from him, then having it vacated, only to win it RIGHT BACK, was just an abuse of power. And his most recent reign was a joke.
So, in my mind, Triple H deserved his first 7-8 reigns.
