- Apparently it was Vince McMahon's decision to repackage The Major Brothers. As the story goes, Vince actually learned a few weeks back that the two weren't actually related to each other and after learning they were life-long friends and not brothers, he felt fans wouldn't accept a gimmick with fake siblings. Vince pushed the creative team to develop a new direction and new names for the two, which led them to being put with Edge. Both of their individual personalities should come out in the next few weeks. ...What about Kane and Undertaker? Fans accepted that. What about the Hollies? They weren't really cousins, and what about the Bashams? Also, as embarrassing as this is, I didn't know they were not brothers. They look so much alike.

Yeah i read this late last week. Sure does seem odd that Vince didnt know. Surely he would have known when meeting them unless he left it up to Steph who is in charge of talent.

I didn't. I was busy making CAWs as I wrote this, so I wasn't fully concentrating. Hang on... Dvon and Bubba aren't really brothers?!

I thought the reasoning was because the Major Brothers were going nowhere?
Besides, didn't Edge apparently want to lead his own stable a while back? (I remember rumours of him doing so...)

I call bull ****. Vince doesn't want fake brothers in his company, but he's allowed to have a fake son? Pssh. Besides, some of the greatest wrestlers of all time were fake relatives. Ricky Steamboat and Superstar Billy Graham immediately come to mind. I'm confused now as to who is and isnt related. Can someone clear this up? Since I don't know who you're specifically refering to, I'll just name examples... The Hardys are really brothers. Edge & Christian are not really brothers. The Dudleyz are not really half-brothers. The Hollys are not really cousins. The Majors, as we have now learned, are not really brothers. The Highlanders, I believe, are not really cousins, but I'm pretty sure the Bushwhackers really were. Dustin and Cody Rhodes legitimately are Dusty's sons. Jamie Noble and Nunzio are not, in fact, cousins. Big Show is not Andre's son, no matter what WCW said. Deuce is the adopted son of Jimmy Snuka. Randy Savage and The Genius are brothers. Randy Orton's family history, as WWE shows it, is true. Thea Vidal is NOT Shelton Benjamin's mama. Jesse Dalton is the son of the late Terry Gordy. He and Festus are of no relation. ECW Senior Official Scott Armstrong is Road Dogg/BG James' Brother. Kip James/Billy Gunn is of no relation to them, nor is he actually related to Bart Gunn. At the TNA Christmas party, the people Eric Young introduced as his sister and cousins really weren't. Johnny Swinger is the nephew of Tony Parisi, which is why he went by Johnny Parisi in WWE. And now, for the hard part...the Samoans. Afa & Sika are brothers. Rosey is the son of Sika, and Samu and Afa Jr. are the sons of Afa. Umaga, Rikishi, and Tonga Kid are all brothers, as well as Afa & Sika's nephews. Yokozuna was Afa & Sika's nephew as well. Peter Maivia was Afa and Sika's adopted brother. His daughter, Ata, married Rocky Johnson. They had a son whose name escapes me at the moment. Gary Albright married Afa's daughter, and so I guess his son from a previous marriage, Brent (Gunner Scott) is also sorta-kinda-but-not-quite related. Wait, scratch that...breaking news...Brent isn't Gary's son after all.

So does that mean Kane and Chyna aren't brother and sister either? Because that would destroy my world.
