Former WWE Champion John Cena will be starring as Detective Danny Baxter in WWE Films' next project, 12 Rounds, a cop-action film that begins shooting in New Orleans on 2/25. As of now, the movie is set to release on September 5, 2008 and will go up against Clive Barker's Hellraiser. Source:prowrestling.com

Isnt the WWE losing money by making these?

Nope. The Marine, See No Evil both made their money back from Theaters and then on top of that The Marine made WWE Films over $20 million dollars in DVD sales/rentals. The Condemned was the only one of the three that WWE films didn't make their money back on in Theaters however as of today The Condemned has made over $22 million dollars in DVD Rentals and sales making WWE their money back +.
So in short, absolutely not. They are definitely making money. The Marine is still in the top sellers section at all the stores around here.
The Bratz movie [Believe it or not WWE Films was one of the production companies] also has made them money.

The Marine was a kick ass action movie and I loved it it was what it was and I feel sorry for the people who dislike it because there too "cool" to like anything with Cena in fact is the guy did a great job. At the end of the day people to complain about his acting is ing stupid it was a action movie not good will hunting who gives a s long as theres explosions car chases and ass kicking and the marine had all of that.

If nothing else, it sounds like the most interesting of all the WWE Films projects thus far (ignoring The Mania of Wrestlemania).
At least it isn't as laughable as the Western where nearly everyone in town was played by a WWE superstar. Was that even real? Or just bullcrapsome internet writer came up with?

Hopefully Cena start fade out from WWE to movie star, like as Dwayne Johnson! So we won't get annoying at WWE to see John 'The square jaw' Cena!

Does anyone else remember WWE putting out a press release saying they won't be making box office films anymore? If I recall correctly, Linda made those comments after Condemned didn't make enough money in theatres so all WWE films will be straight to DVD.

I think WWE would score big time with a comedy. They have tons of wrestlers who are actually just naturally funny. They could use that to their advantage. But instead, all we get are these action/horror films. Perhaps a comedy one day?!

don't be surprised to see a DX: The Movie in production after WM, it's something the WWE has been planning and the script has already been written.

Man, as if The Marine wasn't bad enough, they are actually going to waste more valuable film, time and money on another Cena bombshell. Anyone who says The Marine was a good movie, doesn't know their ass from a whole in the ground. It flat out sucked and so did Cena's shoddy acting skills.
Cena can't even wrestle or rap all that well and we already know from his role in The Marine that he damn sure can't act, so why are they going through with another crappy Cena movie?? When will they ever learn??
