OK, To clarify, as someone who has been in love with WWE's setups since getting into rasslin'...
Technically, the screen itself is the "TitanTron". However, in the context it has been used:
They are talking about the entire set, with the exclusion of the ramp. In this context, 'titantron' refers to the gorilla walkway, the titantronic screens, the steel girders and the USA pylons.
The SmackDown! fist and glass is self-explanatory.
The fact that all of the WWE wrestlers were brought together to record the new openings, means expect the new intros to consist of a short clip of the grappler standing in his typical trademark pose, followed by a clip of him. The wrestler's stance will be HD'ed.
Example, Triple H will flash on the screen for a second, probably holding a hammer (and of course, in his own colours), he will spit water at the camera and the camera will do an extreme zoom into him, and will then display a few .5 second long clips of him in action.
Repeat process for all major stars and go to a collage for the end of the opening.
As for the shows themselves, expect the draft to whine away slowly. WWE seem to no longer want there to be too big a difference for each show. Ever since its debut, SmackDown! looked different. Having the same tron for each show is a hugely bad mistake, and will very likely prove to be a fatal move for the ECW brand. My condolences go to Elijah Burke, for the death of his WWE career.
Expect to see something reminiscent of WrestleMania 24 or Saturday Nights Main Event. Huge props will be used for the grapplers, such as coming up from the floor, out through different parts of the stage, and moving parts for cars to enter the arena (D&D, JBL, Eddie, Austin etc.)
Look forward to seeing a stage with a connecting ramp, which is Something WWE will make sure to have. Without it they miss a lot of big bump moments (Kane and Snitzky, Nash and Triple H, Orton and Foley etc.) which would hurt the shows.
Something tells me the commentators will be placed on an elevated platform somewhere in the arena, but close to the ring.
I imagine the ramp will be the same length or longer.
Expect at least twice as many lights on the stage, and lights along the side of the ramp.
Enormous graphics will be displayed behind the wrestlers (such as Kane's fire, triple H's head, Khali's tiger etc.) and similar effects spread across the stage.
Do not expect to see screens showing different angles at the same time. maybe somewhere above or beside the main tron, but to incorporate such a thing onto the tron would be bad and make the whole project look sloppy.
I imagine every major grappler will now have a personalised set. With videos spread the entire way across it, and a main one in the middle, a graphic at the gorilla position walk way, and to either side.
Also expect Jakks to make this titantron in figure form the week before they change it to a new titantron.
Well, those are my in-depth thoughts on the new stage.
I personally still am not happy they are changing. I will miss the RAW tron and i wish it wasn't leaving. Definitely the greatest TitanTron in WWE history.
When WWE are even referring to the tron as being 'iconic'.. why fix it if its not broken.
The move towards HD, and introducing new sets just gives me another reason not to watch. I will not buy HD, and i don't fancy having it splashed all over my screen when im trying to enjoy a wrestling match.
WWE are making things worse for themselves. I personally believe this whole tron change is a front, to let people think WWE couldnt be doing any better. In reality.. this is another step in the wrong direction.
Vince is out of his mind to allow this. Whoever pitched this idea needs their jaw broke.
Well.. regardless..
