It's on WWE 24/7 right now if you want to check it out. . . 6 years ago yesterday, March 11, 2002 WWF RAW is WAR main event --
the nWo (Hogan, Nash, & Hall)
vs.
The Rock & Austin
And yes, there are parts where Austin and Hogan are in the ring together. At one point Austin slams Hogan, and there are some punches exchanged between the two.
Thoughts?

Obviously, that doesn't count. That's like saying, "The Rock and HBK have already fought each other. They were both in the Royal Rumble match at the same time!"

I got so pissed when this happened originally as I thought they gave away the biggest dream match in wrestling history in Hogan/Austin with absolutely no build whatsoever & without a care as if they were two nobody's.
To me if two guys (teams, whatever) are scheduled in a match & contact is exchanged, then to me, the match HAS happened! I never forgot this & hated that they did that.
The reason why the Taz vs Sabu fued & match worked so well back in ECW was because they NEVER made contact until the match. Hogan/Austin in any form should've had that same feel.
For the past ten years every week before a scheduled match they have a 5 minute brawl with each guy hitting their finishing holds with nothing left to the imagination. That kills any kind of build up.

Sorry for bumbping this by adding absolutely nothing to the topic, but that was actually the very first live event I ever attended. The atmosphere for that match ws absolutely amazing. Half the crowd was cheering for the rock and half was cheering for hogan. Sorry I just had to get that off my chest.
