WWE.com posted an interesting article today with Stone Cold Steve Austin interviewing actor and former WCW Champion David Arquette. Arquette's WCW title reign is considered by many to be the epitome of the company's ineptitude during its final days.
As if David Arquette being interviewed on WWE.com isn't strange enough, Stone Cold actually mentions TNA Wrestling in one of his questions. Austin asked Arquette:
Knowing wrestling like you do, being in WCW for a little bit and now seeing the business today with really only WWE around — you’ve got some stuff in TNA but no major stars — who is your favorite guy going right now?
It is very rare that WWE mentions rival promotion TNA Wrestling in any way.
Despite what Stone Cold says about TNA, their weekly television show iMPACT! draws ratings that are comparable to ECW on Sci Fi. As far as TNA having no major stars, Austin seems to have a short memory. He dropped the WWE Championship to TNA's top star Kurt Angle at Unforgiven 2001.

By the way....I consider ECW, WWE's best show as far as quality.

Kurt Angle might be a big name but he's not a major star that will bring them to the next level which I'm sure is what Austin means.
Stone Cold > TNA

Is Austin wrong? No. TNA HAS NO MAJOR STARS. Angle was this HUGE announcement, did nothing for ratings. If Austin mentioned it, he must watch it. My guess is if you actually got to talk to Austin about TNA he would say he likes talent there but they aren't allowed to do what will make then big. It's also a problem WWE has. They push the wrong talent to the top. The fans love MCMGs but for some reason they get booked in a terrible angle against Team 3D(see Lance Storm's latest column).

Well, it's true.
WCW sucked 8 years ago (except for Disco Inferno), and this cheap imitation sucks too (except for Disco Inferno).
