Oh. My. God. You may be the first  ing person here beside myself that posted here about red-ringing his 360 and had the warranty with a store. Congrats on having the convenience and even having the possibility of upgrading your system when you go to Best Buy, if you got the the Premium. |

Anyone else here still on their launch day 360? Mines still going strong(knock on wood), no problems with it at all.

My first one (the one I waited outside Best Buy for about 13 hours for) broke about 2-3 weeks after it came out, but I got it replaced through MS in about 3 days only to have that one to break about a year ago today, but this one is still going strong but I'm still going to increase my BB warranty soon, as it expires November 22nd this year.

yea brian, i NEVER buy anything without getting a 3-4 year warranty on it with the store. what causes the red rings? hardware failure?

Red Rings is, officially through Microsoft, caused by general hardware failure. What people seem to assume by the extra epoxy found in opened 360 Elites is that it's caused by the system running so hot that the glue on the parts melts and in some cases actually warps the motherboard. Granted, this causes a general hardware failure, but this is more severe than a cpu dying or something.

I'm still on a launch 360. I get one red quadrant every once in a while, I just shut it off, turn it back on, and it's always good to go.
Aside from that, I've had no problems.

I downloaded Eternal Sonata last night and I really loved the demo. It pretty much sold me on the game, the game was beautiful and I enjoyed the battle system.

I've went through two systems so far, my first one broke about 6 months after I got mine on launch day.

My launch console lasted me until march\april 2007, and I erased all my gamertag's content since my email account was hacked. Then I got a refurb which lasted a day, and I just decided to keep my money to buy an Elite. My Elite only froze once on Saints Row, and I only had the three red lights once, on the first day when I had installed it. I'm happy thusfar and I feel really safe with my Future Shop warranty and my MS warranty.

R.I.P Xbox. The lights havent flashed, but it wont turn on. And when it does, it makes a slight beeping noise and freezes.

Check the power brick. You might not be as stupid as I am, but it might be unplugged. Mine wouldn't turn on and fifteen minutes later I found out the connection to the power-brick was disconnected. :X

Nah, I checked all that out before I posted. Where you plug the power cord in, though, where the intercooler hooked in, there are some melted pieces.  |
