So, with 10 days to go... who thinks that there is still some secrets in the Wii console?
I keep hearing people think there are but I've been avoiding getting my hopes up, even though I think this is one of the best valued consoles I've ever seen!

Reggie said that there are no other secrets. I'm sure they have a lot of great things lined up for WiiConnect24 and whatnot, but I doubt anything major will come about in the next week and a half. EDIT: On an unrelated note, I updated the main page with a link to IGN's new flash guide and removed a former launch title.

I know, but sites still seem to be posting "They say not secrets... but we think their are!". I doubt they'll be anything else but it just seems the rumours are still there.

I'll be playing UMK3 SNES in my Virtual Console.
Wii I'm getting, not PS3. Outrageous price, but hey, it's Sony.
Oh, I pre ordered Zelda.

Anyone want this game? It seems intriguing. It's rumored to have worldwide online support.

I watched them play Wii for like 3 hours yesterday on Gamespot.com. Here are some notes:
1. You can't play Gamecube games with the Wiimote.
2. In the 3 hours they broke a controller with out hardly doing anything to it.
3. The battery life on the controllers doesn't seem very good. They were changing them it seemed every 30 minutes or so.
4. They weren't very fond of Excite Truck.
5. Wii Sports looks awesome.
6. Madden seems ok.
7. They all thought the Wiimote felt rather small in their hands.
8. Zelda looks very good but it seems rather frustrating as well.

What do you mean breaking it without doing anything?
Did they drop it, catch it on something? It can't just of been off normal play can it?

When I tried it out, we played for 3 hours, with multiple systems going, and not one remote broke. 3. Not once did the batteries in any of the remotes die, and they were on the entire time. 5. I thought Wii Sports was awesome. The boxing is amazing! 6. Madden is good, but it takes a little to get used to the controls. 7. The remote was fine (size-wise) for me, that's just me though. 8. I watched Zelda being played, and it looked relatively simple to me. That's just my experience on the matter.

so if there is a 512MB internal flash memory then do you need to buy a SD card straight away?

Well, I don't know if they're "Nintendo-Made" but over in the Wii-section at Best Buy (see: a bunch of empty pegs with labels and prices) there are labels for 1GB and 2GB SD Memory cards for the Wii. I'd presume they're Nintendo-made since I distinctly remember it saying Nintendo on it but that could be because it's for the Wii.
In other news, at any given moment there were at least 3 people watching the Non-Playable Wii kiosk yesterday. It put a smile on my face as the people ranged from about a 70+ year old man to some teenagers.

New Wii in 2007 to Enable DVD Playback Sonic Solutions signs on to develop updated console for last next year. by Hilary Goldstein November 13, 2006 - In a curiously timed announcement, Sonic Solutions revealed it had been chosen by Nintendo to provide DVD movie playback on a future version of the Wii. According to the release, Nintendo plans to offer a new version of the Wii in the fall or winter of 2007. Sonic's CinePlayer CE DVD Navigator, a standard in DVD playback software, allows for anamorphic widescreen video, motion menus and alternate camera angles.
"To be involved in Nintendo's ground-breaking gaming console is extremely gratifying and a testament to the efficiency, flexibility and dependability of Sonic's technology," said Jim Taylor, senior vice president and general manager of Sonic's Advanced Technology Group. "Game consoles represent a fresh market and platform where we can introduce a new audience of potentially millions to the quality of our brand and the power of our digital media applications."
It is unknown if there is an add-on DVD player is also planned. If not, those who purchase a Wii this holiday would need to buy a brand new system next fall in order to enjoy DVDs.
With the Wii launch coming this Sunday, the announcement of an updated console shipping late next year doesn't seem very beneficial to Nintendo. But that won't stop us from lining up on launch day.

Cnet review Nintendo Wii - gets an 8/10
Cnet has reviewed the Nintendo Wii, giving it a final score of 8/10. The good side is its control method of course, while the bad is it lacks the graphical and entertainment power of the 360 and PS3. Interestingly they end by wondering if the Wii will be just a short-lived fad or something that will change the industry.
