These topics never end pretty. Just look at the games and base it off of that. Someone like me or XZEROX, or a few select other users that frequent here can give you fair and balanced opinions on each, but most people are just going to say "PSP HAS BETTER GRAPHICS AND YOU CAN LISTEN TO MP3S! DS SUX" or "PSP SUCKS SONY SUCKS DS RULES". Just look at the games, and say "Hey, I love GTA and Metal Gear Solid" or "Hey, I love Mario and the other crazy game designs Nintendo puts out."
PS- I own both a DS and a PSP Slim, and I get more use out of my DS than the PSP. But that's just because I enjoy more of the kinds of games the DS releases than the PSP.

It depends on what your brother likes. This has been said many times. If he's looking for something that he'll use a lot, and something that has more then one function then the obvious choice is the PSP. If your brother is looking for some casual, weird fun and some creative ideas or just plain boredom-ender, get the DS.

I have both, use my PSP alot more. Simply for the fact I can play MP3's, Videos, browse the internet etc. Its more convinient to me. Both have thier good/bad points though.

I had a PSP and DS a while ago until I sold both. Whenever I got home from school I just layed around, picked up my PSP and just dicked around on it. I played my DS all the time, even when I was busy. . . Just get hints out of him on which one he prefers. Ask him stuff abotu them but dont make it obvious you are getting him one.

Im pretty much Half and Half on both, but Im leaning towards the PSP side because of the MP3 Player Feature and the Homebrew scene.

Don't expect to get homebrew if you have a slim, or don't have a pre-2006 model. The only way to get homebrew is to downgrade, and we all know how that turns out.. *dead PSP*

It depends on what type of games your brother likes. If he likes mario and zelda than go with DS. But if he likes shooting games, or sports games than I would go with PSP.

It depends on what your brother likes as far as games go. I think if you can find out which ones he prefers, then it will be fine. It should give you a better idea on what to get. As far as which one, it comes down to the games and the appeal. That's all I can say.
