Please help fill me in. I want a Wii, I dont need it but it would be fun. I got enough christmas bucks to get one, but obviously they arent anywhere (look at any national news channel) Yesterday, I looked around for ****s and giggles (i love that term) at gamestop in the mall and saw boxes of the system at the front of the store, outside the door. I asked the fellow behind the counter if they were the actual systems and he said they were just display models, and of course they didnt have any real systems. So, before leaving, I said; "if you dont have any systems, you should take down all the display model, you comies" I went to a gamestop the otherday to see their selection of PS2 games, and the first thing that I heard were the workers complaining about people calling for Wii's and that they should sell a brick in the boxes for 250 dollars. Its a new store, and theyre just a bunch of punk kids from a crappy coal town called shamokin. I talked to some kids in school and they suggested Wii or 360 was the best. I talked to this one ginger kid who always annoys me about videogames, and he said he ordered a wii for 300 in october, and they said he'd get it november. In november he was told he'd get it in december, and now he says they cancelled his order till february. Theres no way in hell im preordering a Wii Ok thanks for reading my story. MY Qs are THIS:
1. For Wii owners, when and where did you get one? 2. Why the hell are they so rare> I see all the others systems everywhere. 3. When will stores get them in stock? also, when do you think theyll drop in price, and generally, what the hell does a guy gotta do to get a wii?

I got one last year off of eBay. I have no idea why they're so hard to find, and I'm still surprised that they are. Since they're not really expensive at all, I don't really see it necessary for them to drop their prices--especially with everyone still wanting one.

Lol, it's because they only ship out so many. Supply and demand, people.

Yeah, especially considering the season, it'll be damn near impossible unless you invest LOADS of time in lines. My roommate went to a TRU at 6:30 A.M. a week before Thanksgiving, was 13th in line. (The first 14 got Wiis.) About two weeks ago, a friend mentioned that a guy he knows went to a TRU at 3 A.M.... ....and was about 35th in line. After Thanksgiving, anyone could really tell it's gonna be hard as getting a Wii for $250.

I walked into Toys R Us a week before Christmas last year and bought it. I rarely play it either. If you are only going to have one system, right now I highly recommend the 360.

Lol, it's because they only ship out so many. Supply and demand, people. According to Nintendo, it's not that they don't want to ship out more, it's that they can't possibly make enough to fit the demand right now.

Gamestop. They just started a raincheck program: If they don't have it in stock you can pay for it in full and get it guaranteed before January 29

I got my Wii on launch day. I waited outside at Target for 4 hours I'm not proud of it, but damnit I did it. Most stores put out their shipments today actually. Stores usually sit on their inventory until they can advertise them in their weekly ads.

a Target here had them in stock for about 4 months straight. Every day you could go in and see at least 12 of them. Then in October....they vanished. I got one "for my son" back on his birthday (September.). Wii love it lol...but I still play my 360 since he is usually in to the kiddie type games.

My dad's friend camped outside K-Mart last night for about five hours and somehow bought four of them. If you really want one just ask around for when the next shipment is and you'll probably have to camp.

1. I got mine for free from the make a wish foundation 2. Nintendo obviously thinks if they put too much out the older models will just sit. That or people just love the Wii so much because its more of a "Fun and Revolutionary" console, with the motion controls and such. 3. im not sure about you americans and such but i think i could walk into my local EB Games and pick one up any day of the week. If not i would find out when they are being delivered and go in on that day as early as possible.

I walked into a wal-mart in April and saw them there, I almost had a heart attack. i'd recommend that raincheck program at Gamestop. The only other way your getting one is by staying in the air vents overnight at Best buy

I walked into my Best Buy in the Summer sometime and seen 6 sitting there so I got one. Then the weekend before thanksgiving my best buy was having a Reward Zone member only opening and I was in line and got one for my aunt to give my cousin for Christmas. Guess I've got lucky. I doubt you'll find one easily now unless you pay more on ebay.

Thankfully, some of my best friends work in the video game department at Best Buy. Because of that, when the Wii's became available, I had one held for me. When the store open, I came in, walked to the back of the store, grabbed it from under the desk it was being held at, and checked out with no problems.
Wii's are extremely difficult to get your hands on. It's really quite frustrating.
