I was for a few months but just wasn't satisfied with it. I prefer the Blockbuster movie pass personally. But that would require getting off my ass and going to Blockbuster whenever I wanted a movie It works out really good for me since I pass Blockbuster every day on the way to work. Plus I don't have to wait for the movie to arrive. Netflix usually took anywhere from 3-4 days to get here. So the Blockbuster thing benefits me more than the mail order stuff. The fact that it's pretty much right by my work is the main perk though. |

Anyone else add the Aol Instant Messenger Bot that was created to promote "When a Stranger Calls"? lol. I did. It's pretty entertaining. The username is jill020306. When you talk to the bot it will eventually tell you to call her at 877-467-7675 and listen in via three way calling on her conversation since some creepy dude is calling her or something. I called the number and she comes on the phone freaking out and then another call comes through. It's basically the dude saying "Have you Checked the Children". She pleads with him for a minute and then the line goes dead. Pretty cool. Worth checking out. The number is toll free. Here is my convo with the bot. lol AntonioEKU: Hey there jill020306: ugh. it's the stupid phone again. hold on. AntonioEKU: ok AntonioEKU: you there? jill020306: omg. it was him. he talked 2 me this time. he asked about the children. AntonioEKU: What about the children? By the way...have you checked them? jill020306: i think he can c me. AntonioEKU: He probably can. He's probably in the house. jill020306: omg. omg. AntonioEKU: yeah. He's probably up there raping the children jill020306: i think i'm going crazy. what if it's just a prank? AntonioEKU: Nah. he's plugging the children. I'm willing to bet jill020306: maybe i should call the police. what do u think i should do? AntonioEKU: I think you should just  ing check the children. That makes sense doesn't it? jill020306: i have an idea. look, all my friends r at a bonfire party right now. i can't reach them. i need u 2 do me a favor. i need u 2 call me and listen in on this guy's call. i'll three-way u in. AntonioEKU: I'll call you. But you have to have phone sex with me when I call. jill020306: seriously, call me at 877-467-7675. AntonioEKU: ok. When I called it I got a recording of a girl talking and then she gets another call and it's the dude saying "Have you checked the Children" and the phone goes dead. Initially it does sound like a voice mail. |

It pretty much says most of the same stuff I posted every time. Sometimes it's slightly different. Still entertaining and a pretty neat idea. I don't think it's going to make this film any better though. But I did notice that the voice is almost exactly the same on the phone as in the original. |

Black Christmas > When a Stranger Calls any day of the week. Most Slashers> When a Strangers calls. The original film really is terrible. When a Stranger Calls Back is downright laughable. Don't know if any of you folks have seen it but the way Charles Durning's character figures out how the stalker is doing what he is doing is funny as hell. He just....figures it out. No real clues or nothing. And if you've seen it you know that there is no damn way he could have possibly have known what was going on. It's like they were writing the script and thought "Hmmm....how is he going to figure this out? it. Just let him figure it out out of the blue". Still, the begining of that film is very strong and promising. Very much like the original...but the rest of the movie just hops right into the crapper and flushes itself with a 2000 flushes blue right in tact. |

ya, the opening of When a Stranger Calls Back is really good, but from there it just goes further and further down hill. The killer painting himself in such a way that he's camoflauged with the wall was just laughable...the beginnings of both being very strong just shows that the killer being upstairs is interesting for a short time, and that's about it. Of course, Black Christmas pulled it off incredibly well

The killers voice is really creepy and the fact that he's just random as hell and doesn't have a backstory...well...none that we are made aware of...makes it even better in my opinion.
