Once I heard she was hosting I figured they'd do something to make fun of the dialogue from Juno.
I thought the rest of the show was alright.

What the hell is a "Vampire Weekend"? A band that will probably take over radio and TV within the next 2 years, they're great.

This is the first I've heard from Wilco in a while... apparently he's been listening to a lot of Van Morrison. Not bad though.
The show over all better than what SNL has been doing; yet not as good as last week's... For some reason, for as pathetic as Hillary's appearance was I enjoyed the joke about her laugh. I was expecting Brian Williams to step in and interrupt her as she was saying "Live..."

It featured the character of Nicholas Fehn, which I believe to be the embodiment of everything that's currently wrong with SNL: they've decided that if their efforts to be funny fail, then they'll attempt to intentionally be un-funny.

To be fair, I don't pay attention to Weekend Update... I've never seen this character before or ever until I went back and watched his bit last night. My god, that was terrible. Also terrible: the Ellen Page/Andy Samberg sketch at the very end... it failed to do one of the most basic rules in sketch writing- let us know who these characters are to each other. That's the first thing they teach you at Second City.

The only thing I laughed at during last night's episode was "Those aren't booty shorts, they're baby pants."

I already can't stand Ellen Page and last night's SNL tripled my dislike. She's awful at being funny! rest of the show was pretty good Vampire Weekend next week!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell is a "Vampire Weekend"? A faux-reggae group of white yuppies. More or less. And their music is so-so at very best. But the surface indie hype machine turns its gears faster and faster these days, so we must prepare ourselves.

Also, that joke was the selling point of the sketch. Sometimes, when SNL writes a sketch around a single line, it actually works..."The Sinatra Group" comes to mind. This one...not so much.

But the surface indie hype machine turns its gears faster and faster these days, so we must prepare ourselves. Say what you will, indie music is energetic and plain fun. Dunno, I've gotten away from my music snobbery... I can chill and listen to catchy non-pop pop
