No basketball movie comes close to being as good as White Men Can't Jump. It is not only my favorite basketball movie, but my favorite movie ever.
I don't know if BASEketball should really count. It's not really about basketball...

Weird, I was just think about this today and how there really isn't any very good Basketball movies, but there are great movies for almost every other sport.
I'm gonna go with Hoop Dreams, it's a very well made documentary, very depressing at times and gives you a whole new perspective on kids trying to make it to the pros.

I don't know if BASEketball should really count. It's not really about basketball... But A) It's amazing. B) Its BASKETBALL and Baseball combined. Its basketball related, so there. C) Did I say it was amazing? Well, it is.

BASEketball is more entertaining than all of those movies combined. I even wear #44 in hockey in honor of Coop

Hoop Dreams is definitely the best basketball movie made. I loved how it showed the ups and downs of William and Arthur's life as they try and achieve many goals. Truly a classic and a must watch for any true basketball fan/player.
Honorable Mentions:
Blue Chips, White Men Can't Jump, Above the Rim, Coach Carter, Glory Road

Yay, Basketball Diaries is in there. I've heard it pales in comparison to the book, but it's a great film nonetheless.
