I didn't know what it was about until I read on.
Americans do seem to get wound up about such trivial things.

I had to read the article to figure out what was considered offensive. Seriously though, in my photojournalism class, we looked at articles & photos from the past & I cant figure how we went backwards in terms of photos. I mean, they would put uncensored photos of people getting shot in the head in papers, & people today are such babies about everything. /me raises hand. I'm a baby about that kind of thing. But no, of course this doesn't offend me. It's a basketball player and a hot supermodel - it's not like there aren't hundreds of basketball players who are banging supermodels every night...

Only thing I find offensive is that it's not me with her in my arms, other that, much ado about nothing

Anybody who sees "King Kong" in that image is searching for something by which to be offended. I've seen more controversial covers on Highlights for children. Well said, thats exactley what I said when I read about this "controversy".

Offended? Nah. Dissapointed? You betcha. If I was as rich and successful as King James Lebrong, I would hope I could score hotter chicks than Gisele Bundchen. Meh.

not only the king kong thing, but it says that its makes people think hes a "dangerous black man"
thats so stupid.
what is he holding, or bouncing in his hand? A BASKETBALL! the yelling face is called a GAME FACE! sure, he could have been bouncing the ball and smiling, but that wasnt the image they wanted to get across. They wanted to say, (the photogs, lebron, vouge) that he can play basketball in one hand, and hold a supermodel in the other at the same time. so they needed a shot to make it look like he was.
i bet these idiots who came up with this are the same people behind the reason why the Pokemon Jynx has a purple face.

It is just a magazine cover, why do people get offended by pretty much anything these days?

I've seen more controversial covers on Highlights for children. Yeah. The cover in November '06 didn't get nearly as much coverage as this Vogue cover is getting, but I really wonder why that is:

They're saying that the way Lebron is holding Gisele is similar to the way King Kong held (insert blonde here, based on whichever version of King Kong you prefer). And apparently, that's racist because it compares a black man to a primate. I never understood the comparison, but I'm guessing that back in the day, it was a common racist practice to compare blacks to gorillas because gorillas are subhuman creatures from the jungles of Africa. I personally think it's bull ****...I didn't imagine that image at all. Y'know why? Because in every version of King Kong I've ever seen, Kong was always a hell of a lot bigger than the blonde. No I got that. I don't get how they got that. People just searching for something to be pissed off about. It's a f*cking magazine cover. Let's all get upset over the White Man Can't Jump movie.

The cover in November '06 didn't get nearly as much coverage as this Vogue cover is getting, but I really wonder why that is: Gallant brings his date flowers and takes her out to a nice dinner. Goofus chokes a bitch, knocks her up, and leaves her in an alley behind the Stop & Shop.

Let's all get upset over the White Man Can't Jump movie. Right on. How many fairy tales can Hollywood come up with where a pastey farmer like Woody Harrelson is a gifted athlete? I am upset!

I really liked the article... It had a lot of truths in it.
And it's also very true that people are only screaming racism because it's the cover of vogue... if it was the cover of any "black" magazine it'd be fine with them...
People need to stop being so race oriented, and instead of being about the hood or whatever, need to learn to better themselves. This goes to people of all races, none of this nonsense will ever stop until people quit squabbling over differences and start looking for similarities.
