Sure, Usual Suspects is a great movie, but that's the script alone. X-Men, while I loved it when it came out, is pretty lame if you rewatch it now. I still love X2, but it's not outstanding or anything, it's what the first movie should have been. While I can put up with Superman Returns, it's a puddle of urine compared to what it could have been. However, I'll be watching this because I'll watch anything Chris McQuarrie is involved in.

movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809913399/video/4928963The trailer is up, and it took me like 4 tries to finish watching it. This might turn out to be absolutely terrible. I mean, everyone in it has a British accent, except Cruise, who inexplicably has an American accent. Even more ridiculous, they're all supposed to be German! I understand that American audiences refuse to watch movies with subtitles, I learned this first hand at Blockbuster ("This movie, Pan's Labyrinth sucked! Did you know it's in Spanish and they expect you to read!?"). The VERY LEAST they could've done is make them all have faux German accents, even if they're speaking English. Check out Downfall for a good movie about Hitler.

Now if someone'd make a movie about someone's quest to assassinate L. Ron Hubbard. If only he hadn't been dead 20 years and people cared about him when he was alive, then yeah that actually would be interesting. Instead, we get Battlefield Earth.

I'm looking forward to this movie, it won't be perfect, but I think it will be very good. the cast is awesome... and it's got Eddie Izzard!

Cruise - My favorite role of his Magnolia, and he's great in Collateral, Eyes Wide Shut, A Few Good Men and The Firm. Singer - The Usual Suspects is a fantastic film. But like Sean said, it's basically just the story and not the direction. So maybe he's not a good director.

Tom Cruise is in a lot of good movies, but it's not him that makes the films good, typically. I ing hated Magnolia. Legend was cool, because of Tim Curry. I like Risky Business and Jerry Maguire, but they're just good films. Color of Money is all Newman. Collateral is a Mann masterpiece, he could have had a 12 year old Cuban refugee as the hitman and that movie would've ruled. MI 3 is a good action movie, the other two are mostly crap. Everything else, Eyes Wide Shut, Interview With the Vampire, The Firm, A Few Good Men, and Born on the Fourth of July are all good films, reguardless of the acting. Cruise is a huge movie star, I'm still not sure why, but I think it's because women are attracted to him and men are pretty sure they could beat him up.

I don't give a crapwhat he is or believes. I like Travolta, because he's a good actor. I don't dislike Cruise, but I don't think he's as great as he is portrayed. I even listed why movie by movie.
